Hi guys, a few friends and I are looking to visit Copenhagen for a few days in April, and we were wondering what any locals or recent visitors would recommend doing while we're there! Tivoli Gardens looks pretty fun, but we're on a tight budget, so maybe not. We'll be staying in a hotel or hostel very close to the town centre and we'll be there for 3 days. anything we just have to see? Anything we definitely shouldn't waste our time or money on? Thanks

So yeah, like the title suggests, which is your favourite subject? Mine would be Business and Management. I think LC's would be ToK . And HMS's would prolly be English . What's yours?

Ok, so I've been asked 5 times today to come up with a favorite quote, and I just can't pick ONE! So I was wondering, what are some of your favorites? Some of mine are: Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.- Confucius Don't let school interfere with your education.- Mark Twain Let him that would move the world, first move himself.- Socrates Jack: Where to, Miss? Rose: To the stars. Being normal is vastly overrated. -Splendora Agatha Cromwell Magic is really very simple, all you've got to do is want something and then let yourself have it. -Splendora Agatha Cromwell I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free. -Michelangelo Dwell in possibility.…

If the internet went down for only 1 hour globally what do you think would happen? Since the internet is something we are more and more dependent on, if it went down do you think that we'd have some crisis? The reason why i think this might happen is because of defence systems and communication. Would people even know that it's gone down globally? discuss if you can find something worth discussing about it

3 simple questions! 1. How long do you prepare for the SAT? (e.g. a month before the exam, etc...) 2. What kind of resources do you use in order to prepare for the SAT? (e.g. princeton books, etc...) 3. How often do you study for the SAT until the exam date? (e.g. twice a week for two hours each, etc....)

I recently read this article (it's in French, unfortunately, if you can't read it.) http://www.lactualit...rd-son-francais It displayed a few interesting points. Basically, it talks about how many young Tunisians in Tunisia nowadays have not picked up the ability to speak one of their national languages (French) and instead are reverting back to the Arabic language that was in place before the French colonized them. It seems that only those with rich parents, those with access to a private school have to learn French. Otherwise, it's not really considered important in school anymore. So my question is this. Is French now so ingrained in the culture that it should be kept …

Hello everyone! my extended essay is on facebook and privacy so i just wanted to know which social networking site you guys prefer more..facebook or any other? According to me, I think Facebook has a much simpler format and interface and hence proves to be an appropriate platform for social networking compared to twitter or myspace that lets u fill ur pages with all different styles and themes and hence making it very glitchy! What do you think?

Hello! I have recently started my first year of IB and so far so good ( except for maths, but i'm not here to whine). I wanted to know, since none of my teachers have a straight answer and seem like they don't know their own job, how many hours of PERSONAL study I should be doing per night. That is after I have successfully completed my homework, and I revise the topic I am currently studying. I have created myself a little ( big) schedule for my personal study/revision. This schedule includes 16 hours of personal work per week, not including homeworks and assignments. 2 hours on weekdays, no work on friday and 8 hours on the weekend. So my questions are: a) How many hour…

Let your anger out here and make that difference you so strongly yearn for. We all misspell some words, so it's good for us (bearing in mind our English marks) to finally learn to spell them correctly. And if anyone writes the words previously corrected wrong ever again under this topic, that someone is a dead man. Haha! Allow me to start: Definitely. No, not deffanetly nor deffinately, nor defanitely nor any of the million other variations out there - just simply definitely. It's so widely used everyone should learn to spell it correctly, don't you agree? ''Definitely'', you should answer. Your turn. Go ahead, viva la language revolucion!

What do you think about getting a tutor for a subject that you struggle in? For example, I want to get tutored for French and English just for about 3 months or so to prepare myself for the monster IB exam. What do you guys think? I want to find a uni student who can help me. Do you think it's a good idea? Teachers in our school aren't really helpful and I find it hard to study alone.

Hi, Im currently writing my IB exams and would like to know more information about the rule "disclosing or discussing the content of an examination paper with a person outside the immediate school community within 24 hours of the end of the examination". 1.Does this rule mean I am unable to speak to anyone not even my family and friends outside the school community...... until the next day? 2.Second, how will the IBO know if a situation does occur over Social Networking sites or even over IB Survival. "e.g. a Status Update on Facebook" or a "Question on Yahoo Answers". And what happens when they do find out? Do they contact the school IB adminstrater to write a report or…

Hey everyone, So I'm planning on teaching a little class on computer programming sometime in the near future, and I thought some people here might be interested What I'm thinking of doing is holding live screencasts on ustream or a similar service. The course will be using the Python programming language. The purpose of the course is to introduce basic programming concepts and the tools used to solve problems using computers. I'm also pretty sure that this can count towards CAS hours too So, who's interested? Leave a reply here or send me a PM or something and I'll keep you posted for updates Update: A general outline of the course, including a list of topics I in…

So just make a post as to where your from, no biggie eh? Well I'm from Mumbai! and I love it, but the climate can be bit humid here sometimes, for that reasons I like Pune, which I frequent, nice and dry climate and gets really cold and rains in similar proportions! PS- This thread will help you get local help and form IB groups too!

I have recently come across a very interesting research. It examines the difference between the length of the index and ring finger of a person. When it comes to men, usually the ring finger is longer than the index finger, while in women it is the other way around or they are of equal length. Researches have shown that the ratio between the length of the index and ring finger is associated with the levels of testosterone and estrogen in a woman's womb. Usually men are considered better at number-related subjects, such as physics and maths, and the higher levels of testosterone in them account for the development of these skills while in women the higher levels of estroge…

I've been struggling to fight depression for about 4 years now and I just don't know how to get out of it. It's really weighing down on me and I feel like it consumes me from inside out. I don't know why I'm feeling so unworthy of myself at the first place so I can't fix it. It's like an endless cycle of hating myself then wanting to just sleep forever and not get out of bed. I also find no joy in going to school or studying so it's really hard for me to keep up with IB stuff (although I'm nearly finished with it). I try really hard to do well at school so that I c…

Weird Study Habits 1 2
by JoeG- 26 replies

Are there any weird study habits that you have? I certainly have a few lol. 1. I must have silence. Or I must have a T.V. or radio turned to a station that I don't like, with the volume being at the lowest setting. 2. I must be wearing school clothes lol. I find if I'm wearing a T-Shirt I'm more relaxed, and I don't like that when I'm studying. 3. I can't have anything distracting in my peripheral vision. If I see something that's odd or annoying to me it'll drive me insane until I fix it. (This is just me finding a way to procrastinate .)

You can also complete it if you don't need to procrastinate, but instead are either bored or simply feeling particularly kind and helpful. If so, thank you. I'm in my senior year of IB. A couple people have been organising a grad trip to the Carribean coastline through a company called S-Trip. I'm trying to decide whether or not to go. To be completely honest, I'm a quiet and normally reserved person, and I don’t feel like what they will be doing is right for me. The organisers currently plan for a themed-rave every night as well as activities (snorkeling, battle of the sexes, etc) in the afternoon. I don't usually talk to people outside of my IB circle, but I am on most of the senior sport teams - so I socialize with them when I can. Is the grad trip a waste of money (it's around 2 thousand all exclusive)? I think that it'…

I live in Mexico and I'm leaving to Finland very probably, next summer sponsored by Rotary International. If so, I would have the opportunity to conclude my Senior year in a Finnish high School. What I don't know is if I will be able to even suggest placing me on an IB school. I have inquired you a lot about this before in here, but no one has been able to give me a fulfilling answer. The main inquiry I have is, in case I was placed in an IB school, Will I be able to complete it there or not? Since half of my curriculum will be different. Could I change some of the subjects? Like Finnish B or A2 (depending) instead of Anthropology? and what about those I would like to sel…
