When I was around 5, I decided I wanted to be a Meteorologist. I still want to be one, but that isn't going to be what I'm doing at all as a career. *sigh*

our society is frequently seen as one which is run by the media. TV, radio, magazine, newspapers...etc. Which do you find the most trustworthy and why? Which types of media do you use the most? And if you don't trust the media, where do you get your information from?

As the topic says... how do you relax yourself? I play computer games, and I find out that I become more tensed (I don't know if this is a good word to use). When I go to bed, I often find myself biting against nothing. What are some ways in solving this?

I am very interested in seeing what other students in the IB community do in regards to drinking or smoking marijuana. Do you do it regularly? Or like I said in the title only in moderation? Or not at all? And give reasons as to why.

So, how many brothers/sisters do you have and are they older/younger than you? If you don't have any siblings, that's fine too. Just curious to find out a little bit about your families I'll start. I have one younger brother (2 years younger) and no sisters.

Can anyone think of any good stories to go on this site? http://ib.youyarn.com/ I'm trying to think of some right now... There have been several times in my procrastinating IB career I've wanted a commiseration site like this!
-
The majority of IB's are procrastinators. So, that begs the question: What should you be doing right now? Me, well, chem labs, TOK presentation, EE final copy and that's all I can really think of haha.

I heard my IB teachers talking about it last year, since one of the schools in my district adopted it last year. I'm not saying that I want to drop out of IB, I'm just curious.

Forgive me if someone's already posted a thread about this (I don't think so), but I've forever been innately curious about these sorts of things. So! What's your handwriting like? (in the Latin alphabet, i.e. the script used when writing in English) Do you find it is easier to write with a certain writing instrument? Do you write in a different script other than Latin (e.g. Japanese/Chinese/etc.?) If so, is it neat/messy? Post some pictures!!! For me, my handwriting changes depending on what I'm doing and how long I have to do it. It's messier in exam conditions and quite neat usually. I find it easier to write with fine pens, and I'm very picky about which pens I use. …

There are quite a few schools I would love to study in... & quite a few subjects I would like to take... But, many of these are restricted by time, money or admissions. Let's suppose that they weren't restricted by these. What would you then study and where?

Hey everyone! So I've been looking into going to summer camp next year at a university because a lot of my friends have gone and they've had a blast. I'd prefer going to one that is offered by an American school, and I'd like it be more math/computer oriented. Do you all know of any specific colleges that offer good summer programs? Do you have to apply? I just need some advice, because I've never gone to one of these things before

I was just wondering. Everyone, do you think you lean towards the humanities or the sciences, in terms of natural gift? Personally, I think I'm WAY more of an "arts" person than I am a "science". It's a bit selfish of me to think this but I occasionally wish I was born into better circumstances (financially) so I could actually pursue the arts. Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't see how it's really possible... what with the economy going downhill like this. But anyhow! Back on topic. Do you guys find a natural affinity with the arts or the sciences?

Since I'm a Hong Kong person, I'd want to share this news with everyone. MANILA (AFP) – Philippine security forces stormed a bus packed with Hong Kong tourists on Monday to end a dramatic hostage crisis that unfolded live on global television, leaving eight people and the gunman dead. The day-long ordeal began when a disgruntled ex-policeman armed with an M-16 assault rifle and dressed in combat pants hijacked the bus in Manila's tourist district in a desperate bid to get his job back. Negotiations broke down after nightfall when the gunman, former senior police inspector Rolando Mendoza, began shooting and commandos were forced to storm the bus, firing dozens of bullets …

I just got an iTouch and oh my gosh is it addictive!! I thought that maybe anyone with an itouch/phone (or plays on their friend's a lot), can share really good apps? My recommendations are: Angry birds. Such a ridiculously fun game. Doodle jump. So addictive Whatsapp. You can SMS anyone else with an itouch/iphone/blackberry for free! (Not sure if this should be in chat, or the games section?)

Ok I have to be a little impartial. Just helping out the girls, if you all reply. List things that you find are cute that girls do. And just like in the one for girls keep it at least PG-13. Don't need middle school talk here. I'll start I love it when a girl will be funny and have fun but later she we have a long hug or kiss. I don't like those instant hugs. Now your turn.

Today I was looking for new wallpapers for my new laptop and as I sifted through hundreds of pages on Google Images, I realised I'm really picky with the way my desktop looks. I like my wallpapers to be super simple and minimalistic, and I don't like icons on my desktop. Here's a picture. http://i34.tinypic.com/2nl6bm0.jpg So, just out of curiosity: What's your desktop wallpaper? Are you really picky about how your desktop looks? Is your desktop cluttered? What do you use your desktop for? How often do you change your wallpaper? ...And any other desktop-related topics you can think of!

Pink on guys? 1 2
by Eternalx- 39 replies

We all know that back in the olden days, pink clothing on a guy was unacceptable, but this is the 21st century now and do you still think that guys cannot wear pink as it's too feminist for them? In my own opinion, I believe that guys can wear whatever they like or want. it doesn't mean that they're homosexual or anything. It just means that they prefer it better. Also pink does look good on certain guys, but only some people realize that. Anyways what do you think? Pink on guys? yes or no and why? Oh let me add to the fact that pink on guys is just like blue on girls so i don't see why it's not acceptable to certain people.

So, some of us have already finished this year of school, others have a few more weeks. After tomorrow, my summer will have arrived. Is anyone doing anything interesting this summer? Feel free to share here. I plan to go to Jamaica with my family (if it's safe by late July), visit some colleges in the Northeast, do a couple service projects here and there, work as a camp counselor, do my EE, and play lots of soccer and tennis. Oh, and I can't wait to watch the world cup.

Okay. Do any of you use StumbleUpon? And if so, has it taken you to this website yet?: The Swing Thing The "swing thing" itself is a Python script that gives mp3 files a swing beat by time-stretching the first half of each beat and time-shrinking the second half. It works a little better on some songs than others, and at the moment just literally does what it says on the tin. If there was a way to make the script detect syncopation, it would be perfect; there are several songs where the beat changes a little in the bridge and suddenly the time-stretching gets reversed and it doesn't sound right. The site has a lot of songs already uploaded and swingified by other people, …

This site runs on users, and therefore it makes sense that the more users there are around, the more help people will get (and the more help is available). In it's current form, this site runs purely as a forum. However, the more I think about it, the more I believe that it may be worth extending the site to become a more general IB help site. Rather than only having help for subjects and the odd bit of advice here and there, I thought it might be worth extending the site to have pages dedicated to advice on academic and school stuff in general. IB survival should not only be about how to survive your IB exams, but also how to survive in general during the two or more y…
