So does anyone remember what was on this exam? I need some info on the topic areas for my revision session.

I thought some of the questions in the multiple choice was odd. Like the one where we had to state which cell was most like the leaf mesophyll layer. For paper 2, I thought the data response was alright but the structured factual recall was since there was ecology. For section B, I did questions 5 & 8.

Hi guys, could anybody who did Ovid for paper share some tips and tell me which section was used? And for paper 2, which texts did everyone do?

For paper 1, I did the question on the financial crisis. For P2, I did the questions on structural unemployment, the one on the effect of YED on LDCs, and one other one I can't remember at the moment. For P3, I did the question on current account/Philips curve, the one on exchange rates, and the one on development. Overall, I found all three papers extremely long, but highly manageable. What'd you guys think?

So what did you guys think? I felt the test was pretty easy, no questions were too difficult. The funny thing is how long it took me to name 3 fossil fuels. What do you think the grade boundaries will be this year?

What did you guys all think of the first paper? My thoughts. - Didn't expect gender inequality to come up again - Migration was foreseen as it didn't show up on specimen paper - Seriously ecological footprint again? Overall fairly straight forward.

How do you all feel it went? Paper 1: I felt that texts A and B weren't too difficult, but I know I got the true/false one about the penguins wrong. The text C stuff was much harder for me, I'm pretty sure I got the matching ones wrong and the last question about the overall purpose. Section B wasn't too hard because text D was fairly easy to understand, I just think my tone was off because I didn't talk about my own experiences as much as I should have. I hope I included all the points though. Paper 2: Not bad prompts at all, I chose question 4, the email to friends about forming a music group, the question that most of my friends also selected.

Hi everybody! What do you think about this year's higher level Spanish B papers? Personally I think that Paper 1 was one of the easiest I've ever seen, mainly because Texto C was much easier than usually. Probably Texto A was the hardest....WEIRD. Paper 2 was also okay, I like writing diaries and interviews, and both was offered, so coooooooooool. The only thing I fear of is that last year 88% was a 7, and that paper was not this easy. What's gonna be now? 95%???

Cmon my dear friends... Let's discuss this TZ1 paper 2 of maths... Didn't like it too much... Section A generally good but section B a FAIL... Does anyone remember any of his answers? 1st question about this triangle: I found the side 13.9cm and the angle 34.1 degrees. In the question concerning the eggs (probability) the expected value was 240*0.05? Also in the normal distribution question I think k was somewhere in the +1 s.d region and I found it to be 29.3...

How did you do? I think it was great!! P1 was easy and P2 had a great section A! I said that the stem cells were in interphase and that the other two processes were DNA replication and protein synthesis... I choose 5 and 7 to answer from Section B... I had sort of a difficulty in answering the question "which processes lead to genetic variation of the sperm of an adult male"... Should I describe the process of spermatogenesis??? Competitive and non competitive, differences between oogenesis and spermatogenesis and IVF were really easy! I am predicted a 5 but I think that was a 6!

Alright, so all of you bravehearts- how was it? I solved all IB Math HL past papers for the new syllabus (from May 2008), and I found this years paper 1 to be the toughest of the lot! (TZ 2 here)... What are your thoughts? Expecting a sub 85 grade boundary for a 7 in paper 1?

How did everyone find German HL? I found it incredibly difficult in paper one. There were no grammatic questions using small words which I studied for loads. I don't think I wrote enough for paper 2... I think I was about 40 words under, how much do you think I'll get penalised?!

Which questions did you do and how did you find the paper? I studied a lot for Italian unification and it just so happened that it was the first time in the history of the IB when a question on Italian unification required the knowledge of German unification also. When I read it, I was already thinking of how I would retake the exam in November. However, luckily, there were a few very open-ended question that I took advantage of. At the end, all 5 of my essays were on Hitler I did: 1. The impact of Wold War I on the domestic affairs one country (Germany) 2. The effects of The Great Depression on one country (Germany) 3. Evaluating the domestic policies of Hitler between …

So how did everyone find this paper? Personally, I had decided on doing the literary options earlier on, although the options were a bit catastrophic for the books I'd chosen to study (Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, and Death of a Salesman); there was nothing at all about religion and only very little stuff about the character development option, so I was a bit forced to write on passion. I wouldn't say it was my best text ever but not terrible either

I did E and H, pretty good stuff. I was excited over the lack of behavior question for topic E, those would have gone bad. I did enjoy the end "essay" questions (the 6 pointers) over how the ear hears and over the secretion of ADH. Could have been much worse in my opinion but not this year!

This paper was OK for me, except that I found out that my analysis was partially wrong for one part D question and I think I forgot a label or two on two diagrams that I drew *sigh* Which questions did you guys do? I did question 1 (the one about price controls), 2 (the one about Germany) and 4 (the one about cars in Australia).

How did you all find the Papers? I know it's been a bit of time since we took them, but I didn't see any topic for Timezone 2 so I decided to create one. I found Paper 1 to be much better and easier than past ones I looked at; when I did practice ones I'd always do worse than I wanted to but I felt good about the real paper. Paper 2 was somewhat difficult but very manageable; I missed a few marks but everything was doable. Paper 3 was cake for me but was longer than I expected it to be (especially since I spent too much time overthinking the power question in Quantum, when all it was was a simple P=VI shove-in...)so I missed 5 or so marks. I answered the questions for Qu…

I found paper 1 to be pretty good. I did question 3 about exchange rates, which seemed to be pretty popular with my class. For part B I wrote about inflation that could be caused by the depreciation of the exchange rate. I could have written more but I didn't have the time So what about you guys? What questions did you guys do/what did you talk about/how was the exam overall?

So what did everyone think of the Physics exam? I personally felt that Paper 1 was pretty simple, I finished and had 25 minutes left to check it over. Paper 2 I found more difficult. I didn't really like the selection of section B questions; I ended up choosing B2 (the one about mechanics/thermal and then nuclear) but I messed up pretty horridly on binding energy per nucleon because I was rushing and didn't have enough time to go back and fix it. For Paper 3 my school covered options B and G (nuclear and EMR), and in comparison to the practice tests I had tried I thought it was not too bad, although I am glad I reviewed the night before.

Do not comment on this thread until Saturday may 14th! There is a certain period after an exam before you may discuss it. Please do not discuss the exam before then! I just wanted to get this up and see how people did and what they discussed on these two questions.

Hey there, guys! I didn't see any thread about Further Maths so far so I was wondering... Was anyone here as insane as me to pick Further Math?! So, both exams are over for more than 24 hours.. But there is no one here.. I feel a bit alone, didn't have anyone in my school to talk to about.. So, is there anyone here who did it? Post by: Mahuta Paper 1 only please.

I'd advise maybe getting rid of you're thing over that leader until 24 hours is over. My opinion though. Feel free to discuss after the 24 hour time restraint this is a 2010 thread (last year)

Hi everyone. how did you do on your math paper 2? I live in Asia so I am guessing I am doing TZ2? erm,.. I personally think that paper 2 is tougher than paper 1.. however both papers are still more simple that past year papers. I left our 2 questions though, worth 24 points T_T anyone did the trapezium thing? I really had no idea how to work it out.

So, all you folks, how went it? I thought it was a perfectly average paper with a lot of conventional questions though there were some tricky and slightly difficult parts. I did mess up a bit in the Section B orbitals question. Apart from that, considering the fact that Physics HL has the lowest grade boundaries among all IB subjects, 7 in Physics here I come.

How did people find this paper? I personally thought it was a much easier than paper 1, and an easy paper compared to the average paper 2. That being said, it felt quite long with a lot of stuff and I did leave a whole Section A question completely blank. I also a bit of time, and so there were a couple of questions I left partially finished. All in all a very manageable paper.

.... waiting for 24 hours... How did you guys find it? It wasn't too bad for me during the exam, however after, I realized a ton of mistakes I made... it was however much simpler than past papers, especially the Environmental Chemistry Portion Which options did you guys do? I did Environmental Chemistry and Further Organic Further Organic was pretty good, whereas Environmental Chemistry.. was meh, as I wasn't comfortable with CEC's For the Aerobic Decomposition questions.. would NO2 be a product of aerobic decomomposition of N or does it have to be NO3- sigh... hopefully I got a 7

How did you do? I think that P1 was really easy but P2 was a bit tricky... I answered questions 6,7 (periodicity and organic)... I hated the exercise in section A with the Arrhenius constant and the one with the vapor pressure... How much did you find the b.p. of benzene? I said it was 80.
