So I have already sent off my UCAS application and I said I was going to start my undergraduate from in 2016 and now I have decided to take a gap year. Is it too late to tell my uni that I am taking a gap year? Will they cancel my application? Thanks.

I am just wondering If anyone knows whether german universities accept an IB diploma with ITGS as a subject. I meet all the requirements described by the kmk, except for the one regarding the humanities as it does not include ITGS anywhere. Will this be a problem? Requirements: http://www.kmk.org/fileadmin/veroeffentlichungen_beschluesse/1986/1986_03_10-Vereinbarung-Baccalaureate-Dipl.pdf)

Hey, I'm a junior who will be taking the exams in May 2017. I am NOT part of the diploma programme because I thought that doing three HL courses and doing TOK/CAS/EE would kill me; I thought that maintaining a good GPA would be more valuable. I'm going to college in Korea, so not taking the diploma isn't an issue. Anyways, I'm taking English A Language and Literature SL, Korean A Language and Literature, Math Studies SL, Biology SL, Psychology SL, and Business&Management SL. In my freshman and sophomore years, I took IGCSE International Maths, IGCSE Coordinated Sciences, IGCSE Geography, 2 years of English (1 Year of IGCSE English First Language and Literature; droppe…

Hi, I want to apply to Singapore and my grades are as follows: IB probably 37-39, SAT 2140 combined and 2070 single with 710 reading, 760 maths and 670 writing. I have a TOEFL of 105. I would say my GPA is good but I don't think any would understand it as it is a weird Turkish grading with a twist of my school as well. So I was wondering are my grades competitive enough for NTU or NUS WITHOUT a scholarship. Thanks

I am a non-EU citizen and will graduate at the age of 15. I am having a hard time finding bachelor's degrees that accept young students. Considering that admission criteria will be met, what are some universities (with reasonable rankings) (or countries) that accept students at an early age (preferably with affordable tuition or available scholarship)? I can manage to study in English, French and some Spanish. P.S. I am neither US- nor EU-based. GPA 3.6/4.0, Rank 10%. IELTS and SAT taken, scores not received. There are no community colleges in my country.

So, I really really want to go to the university of Oslo, and I realized that have a different system when it comes to the admission process. It seems to me they do not take IB predicted grade as a good indicator of our grades and they offer no conditional offers or anything of that sort. So, anyone knows the admission process of university in Norway? Like how to use IB to apply? Do I ahve to take a year off? I hate wasting an extra year doing nothing.

Hi, I'm doing my uni applications and for HK there is a specific section for "prizes and awards", where they ask you to list the five most significant ones. Unfortunately, I do not have any awards which are 'significant'. How much will this impact my application and what should I do?

Hi Guys! I wanted to ask if you know universities in Europe that offer physics as an English taught programme or exceptionally good universities that offer physics even though it is not in English. I know that Lund University offers physics in English but I don't know any other. I would really appreciate any kind of help.

Hello everyone! Being an ex-IB student, I am aware of how grueling the course can be, especially when it gets to that stage of the course when one must decide their university majors, and in essence, their careers. My friend and I found that this decision was a very big step at such an early age, not only due to the course pressures we face but also because of how unfamiliar we are with how the 'real world' functions, alongside fears of choosing a course that turns out unfavorable. For this reason, we came up with the concept of having a website that allows high school students to get in touch with volunteering professionals in their fields of interest, prior to joini…

Hey guys I was just looking at the process of applying for universities in Ontario. Almost all school make you apply through the OUAC thing but I was looking at the whole "how to video" for it and all they did was choose the programs that one would apply to. What about stuff like extra-circulars and the personal statement? I'm so lost here.

Hi guys, so I'm currently conflicted in terms of choosing my IB HL subjects and this is cause I am not entirely sure what I want to study in uni but I've narrowed it down to either comp. sci/comp. engineering or econ/business/finance. I understand that the requirements for these two courses are quite conflicting and I am wondering which combination of HL subjects would give me the most opportunities for the aforementioned courses and whether or not I should take 4 HLs instead. Thanks! IB Subject Choices: English Lit. SL Chinese B SL Econ HL/SL ?? Physics HL/SL ?? Math HL/SL ?? Comp. Sci. HL/SL ??

Hello! So, I shall be starting the IB next year, I must fairly soon choose my IB subjects. This is what I've got so far: HL: Maths, Physics, Geography, Chemistry SL: English lang and lit A, German Lang B. I am definitely not planning on keeping four higher levels, right now i feel as if i will end up dropping chemistry. The thing is, I want to apply to physics courses at Oxbridge and Imperial. What I was thinking was, is it a disadvantage not to have a science as my third HL? Will it decrease my chance of getting accepted to an undergraduate physics course if I have HL: Maths, physics and geography instead of chemistry? Thank you so much for help!

If I don't know where I want to study and what exactly yet, can I apply for for example Chemistry/Biology and Economics at the same time? And also for the UK when you apply through UCAS you can only write 1 personal statement, so what if you want to apply to more than just chemistry, can you write 2 personal statements? Or do you have to keep, let's say economics, in the UK and the other 2 subjects in different countries?

Hi everyone. So, my IGCSE coordinator is now registering us for the exams, and so far I have the following subjects (all extended curriculum): Geography, Maths, Additional Maths, French, German A, English Lang., English Lit., Science (double award). The last subject is history. Now, I've usually been a good history student, I never had bigger problems with memorisation or the content, yet it's not something I enjoy at all. I'm currently predicted a B, which isn't bad, but compared to my 7A*s and an 2As it doesn't look *that* good. If I dropped it, I would have more time on my other subjects and maybe score better in my other subjects? I take geography, so it's not like I …

Good day, I'm an IB student coming into my second year. My subjects are (HL: Math, Physics, Arabic B) (SL: Business and Management, English A, Chemistry). My goal is to study in Germany, however I just read the requirements for German universities which list the following requirements: "one of the following social sciences: History, Geography, Economics", " All subjects have to have been studied continuously throughout the Diploma Programme" In my school, Geography and Economics are unavailable, and I couldn't choose history because my school has a weird setup where I had to choose between chemistry and history. My problem here is obvious, I neither have History, Geo…

Hey guys Is anyone studying at Hongkong right now and can give me some advices/info about living and studying in Hongkong? I did some research and found out that HKU is offering Cognitive Science and Global Creative Industries as majors and I also want to take a minor course related to graphic designing. Are these courses competitive? How many IB scores do I need to get accepted by this year ? ( I am sitting my exam in May 2016) I'm also interested in CUHK Really looking for your help!

I've taken about a year of Math SL and i've come to realize I just cant do it anymore. There's too much graphing, which i'm not good at, and when the topics begin to mix together I can't solve the equations. So i've decided to drop to Math Studies. I'm taking English A HL, Swedish B SL, Chemistry HL, Biology HL, and Physics SL as well. I was wondering if anyone knew about any Medical Universities in Europe that accept applicants with Math studies. I would really appreciate it

Hello everyone, I've started to write my PS recently and I decided to check on some free internet plagiarism services if it is not plagiarized. However, I recognized later that these may be not reliable and may even sell my work to other students. So now I'm really afraid of that. I've put a lot of effort into my PS and the fact that decided to check those may ****ing ruin my career. I would like to hear your opinion on that..

Hi there, I was just wondering what would be the best courses to take for architecture, since I'm starting DP next year. These are the courses I have chosen as of now, but I was wondering if I should change them: HL History HL English Literature (Mandatory at my school) HL Visual Arts SL Physics SL Math SL French Many of my friends have been telling me to take chemistry, however it is not mandatory nor recommended for any of the uni courses I have researched so far. I cannot take two sciences as well as a group 6 at the same time, so i was considering taking chemistry in summer school, but I just wanted to make sure that it is absolutely necessary. Thanks

To what extent does our EE topic help our university admissions? On some of the degrees in unis I'm interested in, they often look for "evidence of interest" in that particular topic, e.g a major in Population Health. If I did an extended essay related to the topic (like: Economics in relation to Population Health) would it take a part in "proving my interest"? On the other hand, if I did my EE on a completely different topic unrelated to my possible degrees, e.g Arts or Literature, would it negatively impact my chances in any way? I'm thinking of universities in the US and the UK. Thanks!

For the most part, I'm a well-rounded person. I get top marks, I am very sociable, I take part in lots of extracurriculars (Model UN, Volunteering)... there's only one problem: I'm not athletic. I'm fit enough, and if it's just a matter of going to the gym then that's fine, but I wouldn't say I'm good enough to join a team sport at my school. I've heard that in order to get admitted to Ivy Leagues, you need to join a team sport? Is this true, and does this apply to top universities in the US and UK? Instead of team sports, are individual sports okay: martial arts, archery, etc? Is there any way to get around this and get accepted without being in a team or individual …

My IB preicted grade is about 41-42 but I have some horrible IGCSE grades. It kinda bothers me as I feel like my IGCSE grades will drag me down when it comes to applying to cambridge or oxofrd. So the question is, which university, is more lenient about IGCSE results? It really puts me at a huge disadvantage.... Do they just ignore your application if you have terrible IGCSE results even though your IB result is good? thank you for reading.

I am aware that the question mark in this title has been misappropriated (if I even used that in a sentence correctly) Here is my dilemma: I am currently a Grade 9 student living outside of the United States and will be attending an IB high school next year. At the moment, my post- secondary aspirations revolve around big- name schools, such as Stanford, Yale and of course, Harvard. However, as hinted by the title, I fear that I may encounter serious financial issues if I choose to take that route and this has led me to believe that Ivy League universities favour applicants with wealthy parents (I don't know much about post- secondary... yet). So here is my true qu…
