Hi, I really need help on my Math Studies IA. I am investigating the relationship between language ability (the number of languages a person speaks) and academic performance (their most recent IB grade) in Math and English. I want to see if there is a correlation between these two variables of language ability and academic performance, and later on compare to see whether language ability has a stronger impact on performance in Math or English. Can someone advise me the math processes I could use for this. I tried making a scatter plot but since both of my variables consist of whole numbers it

I have decided to have my Math IA revolve around the probability behind the prisoner's dilemma. I need help deciding on three simple maths and one sophisticated math to explain the game (besides a tree diagram and expected prison sentences). Sooo, I just had my ib math studies world exams and I was wondering that worst case scenario if I were to get a 3 in both paper 1 and paper two but got a 5 in my IA could I still be able to get a 4 as my final math grade?

Are my subject selections alright If I wanna major in Social Work or Psychology in university? Im choosing my subjects tomorrow HL Econ, Psychology, Bahasa B (native language) SL Biology, English A, Math Studies omg yeah math studies is embarrassing but i'm really really bad at math :/ and is it dumb if i choose Econ HL alongside math studies? Sorry if i sound annoying im just really worried i wanna get a better ib score sigh

Hi there! So I've been wondering for a while now- should I drop from Math SL to Math Studies? I'm currently averaging a 6 in Math SL, but I feel like with the steady increase of work I might not be able to cope up with it and fear that my grade might drop significantly (I already scored a 4 on a test that we did recently...) . I want to study Politics/International Relations/History/Economics at uni (undecided major- I'll probably end up double majoring) so really, do I need Math SL (I ask this because Econ is one of my major options) ?? Please help!

Hello everyone I just started my first year of IB (woohoo) and my subjects are English HL, History HL, Biology HL, French B SL, Math SL, Art SL. I want to study Law and I was wondering if the UK universities had any specific requirements for the law course? I read that generally uk university care more about your final score than the actual subjects that you take (or atleast for law). My dilemma is Math SL, I really want to drop to Math Studies to be able to maximize my IB score and because Math SL is going to be too challenging for me. So will having math studies affect my co

I am doing my Math studies IA on the relationship between two variables and I have a moderate positive correlation, but after I did my chi-square test my chi-square value was smaller than my critical value, where I have to reject the alternative hypothesis which concludes that the variables are independent of each other. Is this possible or am I wrong? -
Is there a such thing as too much data for an IA? I posted my survey for my data collection and i received 600+ responses and counting... will this be too much?

I need help with IB subject selections. I have just finished my second year of Pre-IB, and will be starting my first year of IB in the fall (Grade 11). However, I am worried about my subject selection for a couple of different reasons. HL: Biology, English Language & Literature, History SL: Math, French B, Chemistry Note that my school does not have many options for IB, and I will attach a picture of the courses available at my school. I am studying at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. I am most concerned about my language B couse and math. -
Hello! I'm currently doing my IB year 1 and it's time for us to decide universities. I want to do Marketing and management in the UK, and I take math studies. As far as I checked pretty much all the universities I want to apply to say math SL/math studies, but some of my friends keep saying that eventually universities would place an offer for a person with Math SL instead of a person with math studies. So my question is, do universities prefer math SL candidates over math studies even thought they accept math studies? -
I´m almost done with my IA for math studies and I´ve got for Tables with 82 rows each. I put them in the appendix since they take up a lot of space. My math teacher says it´s fine that way but I´m still not sure and scared that the examiner will ignore all my data because they exceed the page count. My project is roughly 10 pages and another 7 for the tables. Thanks for your time.

Hi, I am doing my IA on probability and I am having a tough time with this Chi-squared golf test. I was told to use it as it works better for random selection things. I have read through all kinds of documents and I have managed to do all the normal Chi-Squared things but the Golf Test is still very confusing. What do I have to differently for it?? How does it work?

Hi Guys! I am comparing Life Expectancy and GDP for my IA, and the problem is, that the data does not really look linear, but logarithmic. I get a strong moderate r value, but the teacher says since the data is not linear, I need to find another function. Anyone had this problem before and has a solution and some relevant math processes for this data? Any help is much appreciated
