Hey everyone, I am currently in my second week of doing IB DP, and I was wondering if you could tell me any pieces of advice that I definitely should remember throughout the next two years or "must to do" things that I need to adapt into my habits. These past few days, I felt like I was losing myself as I was not distributing my time efficiently, so I genuinely want to get hold of myself again. HL chem, HL bio, HL math, SL lang&lit, SL psychology, and SL Spanish are the subjects I am doing right now Thank you so much!!

I am starting IB DP within a week, and I was wondering whether or not its better to finish up with most of EE, TOK and CAS earlier in my 2 year IB course, and then in the final year, having done my EE, TOK & CAS would allow me to focus on my revisions and the EXAMs. Is this a good approach, if not please share some tips on how anyone of you aced a full on all of EE, TOK & CAS??

Okay, so I'm doing my extended essay in history on the effect of religion on movie censorship but I've hit a road block, which is bad considering I haven't even started. I don't know how to start my essay at all and my teacher didn't really help. We don't get textbooks or anything to work with so I'm really running off of whatever I find online. If anyone could help me with an outline for my EE I would happily offer you my first born (not literally). Please and thank you!!

Hi, I just got my diploma (May 2018) and would like to help IB students because I like the tutor thing and I want to meet people all around the world. I am a strong communicator and can speak Spanish, English and French fluently. Perhaps doing Skype, providing resources, writing articles with tips and tricks...? My uni won't give me credits for volunteering with IB students, that's why I ask if you know any way of being recognized for doing this kind of thing... I prefer volunteering, but getting an online job would be also great. Thanks in advance!

Schedule Help

So, my school has an okay IB Program that's closer to bad than it is good. The school itself is in the poor side of the county, so funding and good teachers are lacking. My grade especially had really good teachers retire over summer, so we are left in the dark about their capability of teaching. Teachers last year were bad too (AP English didn't give back essays or help teach how to write good essays and Bio was like a pre-period). My school offers a very limited number of IB courses and has already put down which courses are HL and which are SL, so we can't decide based on our strengths (English is HL and I SUCK at English. yay) So here is my current schedule for …

Hey guys, I’m in my first year of the IBDP (eight months in), and would like to know when you recommend I start my IAs. I’d really appreciate it if you explained why you chose the dates you chose for each subject (e.g. maths IA during November because the content is a lot...). I don’t know if that’s true it’s just an example. Please keep in mind that I take exams on Nov 2019 so I begin school on January. Also, my subjects are: Biology, Chemistry, English Lang and Lit. - HL Mathematics, French ab initio, History - SL THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hi everyone, I decided to take HL Chem, Math, and Physics and SL Econ, English LangLIt, and Mandarin B. I did get pretty good grades in 10th grade, but my parents are worried that I'm taking too many courses that have heavy workload. I have three 10-day cycles to change the subject - alternately I'm think of taking Chem SL and Econ HL If anyone has the same combo as I do, I would love to hear your experience and advice.

Is there any way possible that someone can take 2 sciences, AND a group 6 subject? Like for example, Physics, Chem and Visual Arts by somehow swapping out another subject from group 2 or 4? Or will I have to take it as a 7th subject? And if so, how should I go about it? Like is there some sort of form or proposal or an email by which I can contact the IB?

This year I have to choose between partial and full IB and honestly it’s a struggle. So here is my dilemma: I can choose full IB and have a total of 6 courses 1. Math SL 2. ELA HL 3. Chemistry HL 4. Biology SL 5. Spanish Ab Initio 6. World History HL or I can choose partial and take 4 IB courses 1.Chemistry HL 2.World History HL 3. Biology SL 4. ELA HL For my school if you’re in partial IB you have to choose a balanced courseload — meaning you have to take equal number of humanties courses as your math and science courses. I need to take Chemistry and Biology I can’t change my HL/SL …

Hello. I'm a new student in the 2 year course IBDP Program this year and I have an urgent question right now. Is it possible to take 2 language B subjects for the IBDP Program? So, here is my plan. I want to take English B (HL) and MandarinAB Initio for my choice 1 and choice 2 language subjects respectively. However, I'm currently in English A (SL) because I'm not offered English B (HL), but my English teacher kept on saying that if you think that you can't take English A SL, because it's very tough and your language skills is not sufficient, you can go down. So, I went to meet the VP of my school to talk about this because I want to go down and he to…

Justification for revaluation?

I recently submitted a request for revaluation of my Psych papers but they wrote back saying ": Please note, the justification for the report must describe in what specific way(s) it is felt the current marking is incorrect in relation to the marking criteria /mark scheme. A general comments are insufficient. A report will not be completed without this information ." What kind of justification do they need? I don't really know where i lost marks but I'm pretty sure I did pretty good in the papers. I just need one mark to get a 6

Hey everyone, I’m wondering whether I should do HL Maths, Physics and Chem and SL English Lit, Chinese B and Economics or do HL economics instead of HL physics. But quite frankly I hate economics so I would preferably like to do physics at higher level because 1. It interests me and 2. I would like to do aerospace engineering after school. So I’m just wondering, would doing HL maths, physics and Chem be a suicidal decision? Or would I be better off doing HL maths, Chem and eco? Thankssss

But the information did not show up on the turn it in check because it was quoted from an image. I am so worried and i cannot resubmit unless i have valid reasons. (IB does not just use turn it in but another one that can cross-check images.) Would it show up?

I will be starting a club at "medborgarskolan" in Stockholm and I need to have more members to make it happen! I'm still hesitant about the kind of club: I've been thinking "speech and debate", "reading club", etc. I myself am a 16 year old girl in Stockholm, I don't go to an IB school but I speak fluent English, French, and Arabic. You're welcome to suggest other club ideas, but I'll probably settle on those I mentioned earlier. Let me know if you're interested. I know how it is with IB and I'm pretty sure you're all short on time. Same for me, I go to the school "Lycée Français Saint-Louis" and it's just as stressful. Therefore we will only be meeting once a …

So I was in a French school my entire life but decided to study the IB program because I want to apply to colleges like Harvard etc. and I thought the IB is better for that. I started this past school year Pre-IB class (grade 10) and dropped out 3 months later and went back to the French school which I will stay in till I graduate in June 2020. I dropped out because it was hard to get good grades as I don't know any of the math and science terms in English. (Also for those of you who don't know, the French high school system is just as hard or even harder than the IB) Ps. I have very high grades at the French school. Will I have to mention this in my college app…

Hi, Has anyone had experience of course work being sent for re-moderation that came back with a positive outcome. I have had a 6 marks drop from my raw score in my Chemistry Internal Assessment which way over, almost double of 15% tolerance that IB sets and the school has requested a re-moderation. I am sitting on the upper boundary of 6 for my Chemistry HL when I could have comfortably been a 7. I could not find any information on what the success rate of these re-moderation requests are.. Help Please..

Hey, I'll be heading over to the DP next year, I am struggling with my group 2 subject choice. I have Spanish and French AB initio to choose from. I've been studying French B in MYP for the last 3 years, but I struggle with French a lot and I really don't like the subject. In my MYP years, I usually get 3 - 4s or just maybe 5s for French B. On the other hand, I've never learnt Spanish before and have no idea about the subject. But for the record, I honestly don't like studying languages or learning new of them, but for the sake of completing my IB, I've got to. So given the information, what would anyone of you guys suggest, I take for my group 2 subject????

So I think all of May 2018 candidate received their results, and I'm upset with myself. Although my final result was 25 points, my HL point was 11 point which can't get me the diploma. I took HL for English B Mathematics and physics and all of these 3 are close to next boundaries. English B with 1 point, math, and physics with 2 points away from next boundary. I have applied for remark for all 3 subjects straight away, but does anyone have an idea of percentage to successfully increase mark like? Plz tell me if you have any idea, thank you

Hey all, I start the ib course next year and wish to continue with all 3 of biology, chemistry and physics. I may also take up medicine in college, and all 3 sciences are compulsory for that here in India. This is why I want to pursue the ib irregular diploma, but it is said that I'll only be granted that if the university of my choice offers no other option. Could someone pls help me out with what to say in order to be granted permission. Any suggestion would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hey guys, I wanted to know if it is possible to take 5 HLs instead of the 4 I have been taking for the past school year. Keep in mind that mocks are in less than a month. The class I want to bring up to HL is Economics, as I think the Paper 3 will benefit me a lot as I'm a very mathematically-inclined student. Hey Guys I'm in Year 1 of the IB DP, and I'm really having trouble with my grades. As the IB results are out today, I wasn't able to recieve such good news about it. I got the required above 24 points, but IB diploma is not awarded as I did not recieve 12 points or above for HLs. The real confusion comes here. I got accepted into Tamkang University in Taiwan, Department of International Business using my IB predicted scores and english proficiency score. As far as I know, the university just wants to know if I successfully completed 12 years of school and wants a graduation certificate, which is seperate from IB diploma. However, I am still worried if my acceptance to the unviersity will be jeopardized due to the lack of IB diploma. …

Hi guys. I'm currently in grade 10 right now. In my school if you're in the pre-IB program you're allowed to take some academic grade 11 classes if you wish. I excessively overestimated my intelligence and decided to do physics. Despite math and similar classes being my worst, I somehow thought that it was still a good idea. Fast forward 6 months later and I'm almost positive I failed my final exam. In all my other classes I have solid 90's and a high 80, yet this stupid class is going to result in me having an R or a low 50 on my report card. So my question is, when universities look at my transcript and see my tragic R/50, could it make me less competitive? Or…

Had a question about re-enrollment in the IB program. I have failed to get my IB diploma as I did not fulfill two of the passing conditions(namely the "Must not receive a grade of E in Extended essay" and " candidate’s total points are 24 or more ", where I've received an E in my Extended essay and have received 23 as my final result). My total score might be increased to 24 if I appealed for remark but I still wouldn't receive the diploma due to the first reason I wanted to know if its possible to re-register in the IB program, whether it be in the same school or a different IB world school.
