I am applying to three different regions, all of which have a different letter format (Netherlands, UK, Canada). This means I need to write various letters with different contents, addressing different things. Most deadlines for applications are in January and I am having trouble finding a way to write all of these letters because they are all so similar yet so different. Each university is asking a different question about different subjects and it's a continuous struggle to write things about myself repeatedly. I don't know when to get a letter in finished and feel like it needs to be very soon.

Subjects: SL: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics. HL: Psychology, English A Literature and Language, Swedish A Literature. So, I'm about to start my last year of IB and I've finally started to figure out what I want to study after the IB, which is to study Computer Science. However, when I searched for some Universities, all the ones that I searched for required higher level mathematics. Is higher level math required for all Computer Science programs at all Universities? Does anyone have a suggestion? The location is not a priority so any suggestion would be highly appreciated. (btw im sorry for my english, havent slept that well lol tried my best to write a forma…

Hey guys!! In my school, every student is forced to take some form of Chinese course in the IB. In fact, prior IB all students are already required to study Chinese. The school will divide us into ability levels and those who they think are "Chinese Enough" are forced to take Chinese A. To sugar coat this deprivation of freedom they publicize that every student has a choice!!! For us, we get to pick the lesser evil between Chinese A Lang & Lit or Lit as well as HL or SL, "Wow!! How generous!!!!" Anyways, back to the main topic, do universities even care about applicants with a Bilingual Diploma? Does it account for mere impression points or does possess a determ…

I applied for the early entry for HKU, HKUST and CHKU last year. I've recieved condition offers from all those three universities. For HKU, my condition was 38 with equal or higher than 5 in Math HL and Lang B HL. For HKUST, 37 and equal or more than 4 in every subject. For CHKU, 35 and equal or more than 4 in every subject. I think condition for HKU was a bit higher than expected because I've applied for business school which is the most competitive major in HKU and they'd only expect students who do well in the final exam. So, here's my question. What was your conditional offer if you were accepted under conditional offer. Second question, which uni are you p…

Hi all, I will be starting on my EE soon but I'm having difficulties choosing a subject to write on. I'm deciding between Mandarin B HL or Eng Lit A SL. I'm a Chinese who's currently studying in Australia so Chinese is my first language, which there will be a higher possibility for me to get an A in Mandarin than in English. But I saw on another forum where some people said that some top universities thinks that Mandarin B is not rigorous enough so I don't know if it would be a good idea for me to write my EE on Mandarin B... (although it might get me a higher grade) So my question is, will universities care about what I wrote in my EE or do they just care about the…

Hi, I would like to ask if there is anyone who has experience with applying in Russia as a international student. Are there any entrance exams,if so what are they about, and I think there is a interview.. I saw that there aren't needed TOEFL or any other exams. So I don't really know what will the selection be based on.. Btw if anyone has experience studying there, I would be glad to hear how does it look like. Also the universities I am the most interested about are the Moscow State Uni, Saint petersburg university I want to study Psychology, but it isn't offered in English, so maybe I would take one year studying the language, or just just study Bio…

Hey guys, I'm Indian and I was just wondering whether Indian universities would accept me for the MBBS course as everyone says physics is required here. Subjects: Bio and Chem.... NO PHYSICS Also, I have to give the NEET (UKCAT/MCAT similar) exam and I don't study in India so I'd have to fly there while the IB exams are occurring. Does anyone know whether physics is mandatory/ they accept IB with only 2 sciences? And would it be worthwhile flying to India for the entrance exam? Thanks a million!

Heya ^^ I just had a few questions. When you apply to university, what can they actually see? How many times you have done a re-take and which subjects you re-took, or? So, if I only re-take one subject, will they be able to see that I only re-took that one subject or will it look as if I had to re-do everything? Do they take into concideration how many times you re-took when you apply to a uni, as in: is it less prestigious if you have had to re-take something? Thank you before hand already. Hope anybody reading this is having a good summer

Hi I'm moving to Armenia this fall to do the ib. I want to study law in Holland, my school does not offer Dutch so I won't be able to take it for 2 years and dominating the language is pretty important for the degree. Dutch is not my mother tongue,as I live in the Dutch Kingdom not the country; The Netherlands. But I've been receiving education in it for 10 years so I hope I don't lose the abbility. Besides Law I would like to have a few other career options with my subject choices. If anybody has suggestions in career options please comment or let me know what you think? (I'm fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish, Papiamentu and have some basic abbility in French. …

Hello everyone, I'm starting IB in September, and I'm already so excited, but scared! I'm worried that I still can't decide what I want to study at university. My dream is to study in the USA or Canada, and that's why I decided to pursue IB. I'm interested in so many different things, and I find myself thinking that I want to try everything, and the thought of choosing just one area of study freaks me out. I love traveling, art, solving difficult problems, working with numbers and formulas, reading (mostly non-fiction), learning foreign languages and so many other stuff... And I adore learning and trying new things! I'm quite introverted and not really a people perso…

Unfortunately due to some circumstances I might have to study 3 languages - one A and two B languages (English and Spanish.) I feel like this might not be seen positively by university admissions offices. Since I'm going to study a STEM field and not linguistics or languages, I feel like out of the 4 non-language subject groups I should select as many STEM subjects as possible instead of yet another language. What do you think? Is it a problem or can I still get into good universities?

I would like to go to Karolinska Institutet in Sweden but their deadline for application is 5th of July (which is also the approximate date I should receive my IB grades). I asked them if conditional admission is possible but they replied that only final grades are valid (not even mock counts). Does anyone know how to solve this problem or do you know anyone who went to Karolinska and how did they do it? I am really confused and worried that I will not get my grades in time for application.

Hullo everyone So my problem is this: I have been getting good grades since G9 (UW 3.84+), but this semester, I completely blew my grade up (UW 3.7 ish?) and got a 6 for chem. My first choice is the BSA dual degree program for chemistry and design at CMU (I actually changed my original first choice because of my poor GPA this semester). The program requires you to be accepted into the college of art and the college of science simultaneously. Though the average GPA of CMU is not that high, I am still worried if I will be waitlisted from the chemistry department. I have good and unique chem extracurriculars (like my STEAM education program, outreach with institu…

My School is so f**ked up that form half term of grade 11 it changed the board to IB from a really easy one, so the transaction wasn't smooth and I had to pick some rough subjects as HL: Maths, Computer science, B&M SL; English,Second language(Hindi),Physics So now I am worried for my PG and I don't think so that I will get more than 30 points so can anyone suggest some Canadian universities which accept less than 30 pointers. Hi! This fall I will be applying to university and I've been thinking about what a want to study. For quite a while I thought I wanted to study mathematics/physics at university (hence my IB subject choices). Now, I am quite interested in studying Neuroscience... the problem is that I don't take IB Biology. These are my current grades: HL: Maths (7), Physics (7), Chemistry (7) SL: Geo (7), German (7), English (6). Do you think that any good UK university (i.e. top ones) would accept me even though I don't have biology? Would I be at a large disadvantage? Thank you so much for any answers.

So, I've been accepted to Brunel in the UK and SKEMA in France but I'm still waiting on EDHEC (France), ESSEC (France) and Birkbeck. I'm not really interested in Brunel as it doesn't have a well-known business programme but I've heard that Birkbeck is quite reputable in the UK. On the other hand, SKEMA is a triple-accredited business school and since I'm planning on doing my masters at somewhere like LSE or INSEAD, I think it would be a good option to go with. If I get accepted to either EDHEC or ESSEC, I'd probably rather go to one of those than SKEMA. So what do you guys think would be the best for a global/international education in business management? …

Hi everyone! So, in about half-a-year I am planning on applying to a handful of universities in the UK for the course Maths & Physics. As you can see below, I've right now got physics, maths, english and chemistry at HL. One of the courses I am interested in applying for is Mathematics (with Physics) at Cambridge Uni. I also want to apply to UCL, Edinburgh etc. I definitely want to drop one of my HLs and right now it's between English and Chemistry. I wanted to ask if having Chemistry at HL is a great advantage for applying to the course I am interested in or if I might as well keep English (which I find so, so much more fun) (plus I've got an abs…

Hello everyone! As I am a student who has been researching universities over the last year or so, my curiosity in the various rankings of them has gotten the better of me. Therefore, I decided to find every university ranking I could and averaged them all out by weighting certain rankings more than others. I normally adjusted the ranking weights on what I thought were the most influential, but also, the most detailed, unique and multi-dimensional in their methodology. The main reason I compiled this ranking was to look at how various universities fared against each other against numerous criteria, both subjective and objective, and size independent and size dependent. I di…

Hello everyone! So I'm one trimester into the IB diploma and am in the midst of figuring out what I want to study at university.
