BJD
There are 10 of us with contrasting personalities however we have blended with each other as the year developed. I felt the same way you did and it must feel weird with just one other person but if your looking for discussions with other IB students then welcome to IB Survival! This is your realm for discussion. Enjoy it and enjoy IB. Don't make the size of your cohort be a hindrance to your experience. Reply
coolkidinsight
About 30 in each of my classes, except there are 18 in my HL math class. When I say class, I mean section because there are also other IB classes going on at the same time. Reply

Guest
Around 40 in year 1, and about 40 in year 2 - all taking the full IB course. Of course, our subject combinations are different and so we have no class with more than 20 students. SeniorStatus14
21! But some classes are smaller. The only classes we all have together are TOK, History of the Americas HL, and English HL. Last year I was in a IB chemistry SL class of 5 people 1 Reply
crimson.threads
Majority of people in my year take IB, so that makes up a cohort of about 230 students. It fluctuates per year, but generally, 200+ IB kids is the norm. Our school actually has limit on the amount of people allowed in each IB class, so generally I have >15 people in my classes. We just have multiple teachers take IB classes, so it's sort of a complicated dance...English Langlit HL: 13Art HL: 7Business HL: 14French B SL: 14Bio SL: 10Maths SL: 11The smaller classes are easily the most chaotic ones, since we all tend to mix together and joke more in these 1 Reply

ibfederer
Currently we have 8 IB DP students, we are an IB World school but not pure IB; a lot of regular and honors and AP students. Every year students have reduced in the IB DP, a lot of my friends discuss why they didn't drop out before too. Sad state of affairs... Reply
owlivia
My school has something like 11(?) diploma students in IB2. I'm not sure about IB1... I believe the number is roughly the same. For most classes the number is slightly larger because roughly half the students in IB are certificates, therefore only taking 2-4 IB classes. emantse
We started off w/ 100 +, now at the last year about 85ish left, so not a bad # (Out of 340 total students our grade) Reply
