uggy
lol i stayed awake once for 36 hours just to hand in my maths HL cwk in the 37th. Reply
Sonneteer_Trombonist
Hmm, I think my worst was 1.5 hours of sleep. The terrible thing is that first think in the morning is History HL so I couldn't concentrate in that class. Now all the IAs and big papers are done, so hopefully an all-nighter won't be necessary again.I think all-nighters are avoidable, though. If you work a little bit every day up to the deadline, it's completely avoidable. I avoided doing that for my History IA by meeting small internal deadlines beforehand. genepeer
I've pulled like 3 all-nighters in total. One was just for fun. I like how it becomes so easy to sleep through the boring classes when you've pulled an all-nighter. Reply
Summer Glau
I once stayed up until 5am, but that was on New Year's Day For homework the latest I've stayed up is 2am. Horrible times -____- Reply
LadySqueeze
I slept for 45 minutes and went to school after reading nine chapters of Innocents Abroad, a Bio Lab, HOA hw, Anthro hw and additional reading. I went to school after drinking a crap load of coffee, went to school overly energetic and then crashed during lunch. All-nighters have become a natural occurrence in my life. I think the maximum hours I sleep in a day is 3-4 hours. On a really really good day I can sleep at 12. Reply
JoeG
I just pulled an all-nighter on Sunday. Stellar Numbers lol While I've pulled many all-nighters, the most stressful one I had was the day when I turned in my Psychology IA last year. I have a personal moral that I have to let myself put as much effort into a big project as possible. I do this in case of the worst possibility, since I would rather say I gave my best efforts, than contemplating on what I "could" have done. If I work hard on something and do poorly, oh well then that area really isn't one of my strengths, and yes it will make me feel really glum for a while. What would be even worse would be thinking of what was possible for me, and not taking that chance, which would be even more torturous. Patel108
Surprisingly I have never pulled an all-nighter. The closest I have gone to was when I only slept for about 1 hour....That was a very horrible day that I hope to not have again (aw who am I kidding, I'll probably go crazy from sleep deprivation) Reply
Idk?
Surprisingly, no, I have not pulled an all nighter. However I do see it coming in my near future considering it's sophomore year for me. Reply

StaffOfMoonlite
I think the question for me is when do I NOT pull an all-nighter. Edited November 10, 2010 by StaffOfMoonlite Reply
larry
Not in one go - the closest was probably the modelling portfolio for maths, but I had a week of staying up 'till around 2 and getting up at 6 to finish WL2... Reply

saunders is god
all-nighters are a symbol of one's incompetence to manage their time wisely Reply
faith
Nope, not once in two whole years of IB. (Almost 2 whole years, should I say)I came close to it while doing my modelling task (maths portfolio). I think I stayed up till 4am and then got up at 6am to continue. Drake Glau
all-nighters are a symbol of one's incompetence to manage their time wiselyWhat if it's voluntary? Or if they sleep from 3pm-11pm then do homework before school Reply
tenaciousdan
Haha about 3 other guys in my year and I did this epic all-nighter the night we had world lit, TOK and EE final submissions due. It was mythical. But in the IB it's only really special when you do 2 in a row. Reply
Abdominal Procrastinator
I have yet to have one! I need my sleep. Reply
saunders is god
i don't think an all nigher is realistically possible if you have school the next day but maybe thats just my innocent untouched brain speaking before the horrors of year 12 are upon me in two weeksanyway, no sleep makes you lose brain cells so you might forget what you stayed up to rememberoooohhh paradox Reply
Sandwich
I've never had to do one for work. Or rather, I've had times when I could've done one in order to finish work but chose to sleep anyway. It's easier to BS as to why your printer stopped working than it is to not sleep. Can't go without sleep Only ever pulled all-nighters at parties and such waiting (very grumpily) for the Underground to re-open. Then slept my life away the next day in protest. I'm really not cut out for staying awake. Lame but true Reply
