AlonsoDT
Oh... by seeing at all of these posts I've realised that my school offers such a LIMITED amount of IB courses , that's too bad... but it might be 'cause my group is the 2nd one they're finishing with... Anyways, at my school we've got:G. 1: Spanish A1G. 2: English BG. 3: History of the Americas HL/History SL, Social and cultural anthropology SL (although they're not going to offer this anymore), Business & Management HL & SLG. 4: Biology HL & SL, Chemistry SL, Physics SLG. 5: Maths SLG. 6: <blank> Although I believe that in the coming years they'll implement Visual Arts/Music and maybe English A2 or French ab initio/B. That would be really cool Reply
larry
Weird, some schools only offer one of HL/SL. Seems kinda restrictive - why do they do that? Too many students so rigid timetable (our cohorts are usually ~40)? And do most other schools permit students to do 2 languages?Anyway mine offers:English A1Chinese A1MathsFrenchChineseIndonesianJapaneseGermanLatinChemistryPhysicsBiologyHistoryEconomicsGeographyArtMusic (lol bit lacking in Group 6 - they're not that popular (only 5 students out of 40 do a group 6 subject))All at both SL and HL. Plus one girl managed to get Italian a.i., though it's not a regular course Reply
qt3dot14159
Quite a limited selection in my school...Group 1: English HLGroup 2: French SL or Spanish SLGroup 3: History HLGroup 4: Chemistry SLGroup 5: Mathematics SLGroup 6: Biology HL or Physics HL Reply
Ferivan
Group 1Spanish HL (Everyone must take this course)Group 2English B HL (Everyone must take this course)French B SLFrench ab SLGroup 3 History HLHistory SLITGS SLPhilosphy SLGroup 4Biology HLBiology SLPhysics SLGroup 5Mathematics SLMath StudiesGroup 6Nothing x_xBut, since we're a small school, at the end everyone takes all of the courses (Math and French are the only ones in which you can chose the level). I mean, everyone takes History HL and Biology HL but you chose to present them in either HL or SL. So we take 9 IB courses Edited November 19, 2010 by Ferivan Reply
inmediares
I thought my school was pretty narrow, but it seems a great deal wider than other people's, and this is only for the third year of IB.Group 1: English SL/HLGroup 2: French SL/HL, Spanish SL/HL, German SL/HL, Latin SL(/HL, depending on timetabling) and Italian ab initio Group 3: History SL/HL, Geography SL/HL, Economics SL/HL, Business & Management SL/HL, Psychology SL/HLGroup 4: Biology SL/HL, Physics SL/HL, Chemistry SL/HLGroup 5: Maths Studies SL, Maths SL/HLGroup 6: Visual Arts SL/HL, Music SL/HL, Theatre SL/HL, or anything from group 2, 3 and 4.
