How did you guys find paper 1 and 2? I found paper 2 really difficult

I found paper 1 really easy and paper 2 really difficult as well. I didn't finish the last questions of section A or B for paper 2. It seemed so much harder than all the past papers I'd done I hope the mark boundaries are lower as a result.

Yes paper 1 was a breeze and paper 2 was really tricky!!! What did you all get for the last part of the vectors question in paper 2?

Replaced -1 in the last vectorial equation

Paper 1 was really straightforward and easy but paper 2 really stumped me! I think the grade boundaries will lower because it was difficult compared to previous years

yeahh i did that question, this is what i done not 100 % sure if its correct though......for part (a) the answer was 6-2x

for part (b) which was finding an expression for the area of the rectangle..since op=x, the height of the triangle would be x substituted into the actual function......so the height of the rectangle is the actual function of the semi circle and the base is 6-2x

for Q.8 in section B of paper 2, for the last part, did anyone find the length of the arc by calculating the circumference of the whole circle than taking away the circumference of the semi- circle with diameter 13.3 from it?.......thats what i did, have no idea if its correct

The last question about the bus in part b of p2 where it was about the bus and the probability was greater than 0.95 - well the answer was 8 days... so n=8

Yeah I had run out of time for the very last question so I didn't finish it but for the area of the rectangle i did 6-2x and for the height I used pythag. and got the square root of 3^2-(3-x)^2 , I don't know if that's right

I glad I wasn't the only one who found paper 2 hard

That bus question killed me.. What did you all do for the geometric sequence where you had to determine which R value was best and find the sum of the sequence? I had no idea, only got the points for finding the values of R and the ratio..

R value was -2/3. To get an finite sum to the sequence, |r| < 1. Sum of the sequence ended up to be (-27/5) or something like that

i got r=-2/3 and s=-27/5 as well

Out of how many points was it? The first two sections of that question were straight forward

I found both papers REALLY difficult. In fact more difficult than the other papers which I had tried.

Paper 1 was quite straightforward although it was harder than the past exam papers,

I had a problem with the last question of paper 1, I forgot that your supposed to use

the function that you derived in part a) I was too drained from paper 3 history.

Paper 2 was really tricky, especially the semi-circle question, the last part for vectors in part B

and the absolute last question of the exam (although I think I did it correctly)-probability one. \

I found paper 2 to be much harder than the past exams papers especially the Nov 2012 and 2011 papers.

Anyways, hopefully it'll be alright

Yeah, Paper 1 was pretty good! I agree with all of you .. it was harder than previous years.
Paper 2, however, was a bit more tricky... it tested our understanding of concepts.. we really had to know our stuff..

I got n=8 for the last question about probability too!! yay!

for the vectors... I got from memory.. -1,0,-18 (something like that, I forgot)

OVERALL. the ugliest question for me in both papers was question 7 of paper 2 (the semi-circle) the second-half of it.... didn't really make sense.... I just stared at that page for a good twenty minutes... hoping for something to click... but yeah ... no.. nothing.

HOPE WE ALL DO WELL!
