haley.the.great
Technically I don't start until the fall, but after a peek at the roster and asking around, the majority of IB students here are definitely girls. I can't even think of more than 10 boys who are participating in the program. Most go the AP route. Reply
Kudzai Mukaratirwa
well my school is all noys but we allow girls in for the IB program !! so we have 37 girls and 8 boys but one boy is leaving to go to an IB world school in the Holland.......and after my year group finishes IB the school is closing the program i'm so pissed off about it the first school ever in the world to stop IB Reply
Chris Kuno
3:1 Guys to girls ratio...It kinda sucks. Reply
maryam
90% girls Reply
Ferivan
In my class there are 5 girls, but one is leaving to Canada,so... 4 I guess. We're in total 21. However, there are two other classes, and the ratio is more balanced. My class is the only one with SL math (the other two are Studies) and I guess girls in my school don't like math at all Reply
ZiggyM
There are 21 boys and 17 girls in my year level so pretty similar. Last year had about 24 students with about 7 girls, numbers have dropped again this year with the IB1s, only about 24 of them again I think. I'm the only girl who takes HL Physics - and one of two girls in maths! As well as being the only non-asian in both of these Which makes me feel special 2 Reply
elmar
In my Visual Arts class, 2 guys and 15 girls. The other classes are relatively set around 90% female, 10% males. I'm not in Math HL, but there are approximately 19 guys and 2 girls. Obviously, you can tell the gender-specific classes. Reply
Wide Eyed Wanderer
Our school just started last year so we have only 9 kids. 3 girls, 6 boys. Reply
ChikkyD
It varies from class to class.. like, my HL physics class has more boys than girls, whereas my HL English class has more girls. In our whole cohort (78 students) though, there's more girls. Reply
Brian Hunt
My class has 9 diploma students, 6 girls and 3 guys. Overall certificate and diploma students it's probably about 40 girls and 13 guys. I'm also the only male in my Spanish class. Reply
JAKZ_93
In my sixth form college there are roughly 30 people doing IB with 65% girls and 35% boys. In my maths class (HL) there are only 2 people Reply
whatisreality
25 in my class. (Biggest in our cohort). My class is a Math HL class, but there are only 4 boys.Well this is cos my school is an Arts school. "School of the Arts". I don't even know why the system follows IB instead of A levels*Shrugs*. MariusIBDP
29 students in my class(at the moment because people leave IB or come to repeat course from IB2 like every 2 weeks:D ). 10 boys, 19 girls. Yup, pretty lucky Reply
Guest Suikabana
My school has about 450 students (completely IB), so it's a bit hard to tell. There seems to be a few more girls than boys, though. Reply
MariusIBDP
After IB1, there are 26 of us left in our class, 9 boys and 17 girls. Reply
Angelino Dantas
11 students in my class. 4 boys and 7 girls 1 Reply
macrofire
50-50 for everything except Physics HL, which just consists of me...or so I think. Reply
Joe Boyle
Pretty much 50:50 but generally more girls in English HL and more boys in Physics HL (and maths HL is all boys, but there are only two haha). The year below at the same school is about 65:35 girls:boys though. Reply
Revolution
Right now, there are 31 girls and 23 boys in IB1 in my class. Edited September 24, 2012 by Revolution Reply
Uncivilized
It ranges from class to class but for most of my classes there are slightly more gals than dudes Reply
