However, you should be specifying the actual distribution you are using before you commence any probability/statistics question, in the form of X ~ B(n, p) or X ~ N(μ, σ²). Then the examiner knows that you have understood the question and all you need to do is plug the stuff in the GDC and give your answer in a suitable form. Such as, Pr(X<7) = 0.451.If you are still unsure take a quick glance at any recent markscheme for a probability question and see what the examiners are pedantic about.
