IB Diploma - May 2014

Higher level subjects:

  • Thai Language and Literature
  • Biology
  • Business & Management

Standard level subjects:

  • Math Standard
  • English Language and Literature
  • Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS)

I still have no idea what subject do I need to choose for my Extended Essay, please help me to figure this out. Also, when should I start researching about it? because my school hasn't talked anything about Extended Essay yet. When do you guys normally start writing it though? Please let me know or contact me in Skype: iceliizer would be easier for you to tell me and me asking you questions.

I know this is kind of annoying you guys but please, I really need help and really wanna get a really good grade on IB exams as well.

Thank you so much guys! =)

To be sincere, I wrote half of my EE the night before it was due (I had to write it in English and my only native language is Spanish). Somehow. I managed to get an A, but it is very stressful to work this way. All what you have to do in order to do well in the IB while being happy is ORGANIZE, and AVOID PROCRASTINATION as if it were death itself.

You will probably find it outrageously difficult to overcome procrastination, as many of us do. But hey, that's part of the challenge, isn't it? (:

Well everyone in our school chose their subjects and topics at the end of IB1, and didn't really start until IB2. If you want to get a head start on your EE, it'd be a good idea to do a lot of reading until you think of something you'd really like to explore. As said above, don't leave it until the last minute, but you'll have a long time to consider the subject, a question and plan. Remember that planning is half the battle :) and a thorough plan allows you to follow the criteria and score well.

Can I write TOK essay in my own language? My first language is Thai and I'd prefer writing in Thai if they're allowed me to. Can I?

Unless you do your EE in a language subject other than English, i.e Thai Language and Literature in your case, it has to written in English.

Unfortunately I think the same thing applies to ToK essay and presentation.

I started my Chemistry EE a couple of weeks before the summer break (May-June 2012) and finished my final draft yesterday, working over the summer holidays helps a lot as you can finish it early on in your second year and be able to focus on IA's, ToK and Exams.

And as "IB Failing" mentioned, planning is key when doing the IB. :)
