Meganjeans
Hi guys! I picked my IA topic as Sudoku, but the problem is that i dont know what to calculate from it. Everything that i think of has already been calculated. So, i was wondering of anyone had any ideas or if i am allowed to write my IA was already somewhat established information. The number of possible completed Sudoku grids was one of my ideas, but that has already been calculated, and it took a ton of mathematicians and computers to calculate the complex number...Thanks a bunch!Megan Reply
Hannah V
When we did our Maths IAs (which I assume this is for) you weren't expected to discover anything new particularly. But you were expected to use theories/theorems that you have studied in your spec to find the answer to whatever your question is. If it's been calculated before that's fine (most things have) but I would just say that I get the impression that Soduku is quite a common choice. But then I don't think that really matters that much, just make sure that everything you do is your own work. From my experience I would also say that picking something which you have a genuine interest in and curiosity about makes the whole experience much easier! Good luck and I hope you enjoy it; I had good fun writing mine Reply
