dessskris
I am going to read:1. Rumah Boneka (A Doll's House), Henrik Ibsen (drama)2. Madame Bovary, Gustave Flaubert (novel)3. Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy (novel)I hate Madame Bovary the most. Rumah Boneka is my favourite. every book is interesting though Madame Bovary is too long and it's got a lot of useless descriptions. Drake Glau
Pedro Paramo - Juan RulfoDom Casmurro - Joaquim Maria Machado de AssisChronicle of a Death Foretold - Gabriel García MárquezHouse of Spirits - Isabel AllendeApparently we read 4, because we could use all 4 for our essays Essays were due during the time we were reading Pedro Paramo however so the latter three are the "official" WL books we read. Proletariat
We had the following:1) The Assault - Mulisch 2) The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum - Boll 3) Chronicle of a Death Foretold - Marquez4) A Doll's House - IbsenNone of the four works were particularly impressive, but none stunk either. I would say Chronicle was the most enjoyable. I wrote WL1 on Chronicle/Katharina, and WL2 on Doll's House. We also studied Hour of the Star (I hated it), which is written in a language other than English, though not as part of WL.I would have liked to study The Stranger and/or Metamorphosis, because those are closer to the types of works/literature that appeal to me personally. I also would have liked to study something from Eastern Europe or Russia, since I can't even remember the last time I've read something from there. Still waiting on Solaris to get a proper translation into English, or for me to improve my French. Reply
