Our year group has put together a fashion show (and got $8000) and we're organising a golf tourney now.. and like i've put sooo much into the organisation, etc etc HOWEVER, the funds are for our grad party... can the hours still be used as CAS? probably not.. but still checking just in case.. hah a xxB Reply

QueenSara
I would say it is not possible; you're gaining financial advantages from the activity, thus it is not suitable as a CAS-project. Reply
jessielee
my adviser said fund raising cannot be included in CAS hous Reply
Ruan Chun Xian
Umm...half of my service hours were fundraising as part of student council activities It really depends on what you're fundraising *for* If it's for charity, surely it can count? lindieeluieee
Yes, it does. If it is for charity, not for grad parties though. Reply

Amber
I am assuming it does, but ask your coordinater, it is different for like every school. Reply
Charizard
Well you can't count it as a Service activity if the money goes to a grad party, but you should get some recognition for your work in organizing the fashion show and golf tourney - a ton of logistics management and leadership and initiative taken etc so I'm sure it would count towards personal development and learning new skills etc. Try to make the actual fashion show and golf tourney the focus of the activity rather than 'fundraising for a grad party'. It really depends on how your CAS supervisor sees it so ask him/her about it! Reply
