Mostafa Eldamaty
This is something I don't know. But I guess the IBO hands out the information to every teacher worldwide. Try asking your teachers . Mostafa 1 Reply
MrEssick
As a new teacher to IB-VA I had the same questions. There is one book listed on www.IBtextbooks.com, Understanding Art by Lois-Fichner-Rathus.As for how do teachers teach without a book? Knowledge, research, and extensive planning from multiple sources of reference! It is a ton of work to effectively plan since there is no specific text to rely on. The benefit is that it is unlikely that any two teachers are teaching the same. This hopefully adds to the breadth of knowledge and research conduct by students. The framework provides very clear and distinct assessment expectations that could achieved through a variety of sources of information.Hopefully that helps. I would ask your teacher, and then research history of art in different cultures. The principles of design and elements of art also of course are the glue that binds it all together, so make sure you have a complete understanding of this area.
