Good Activities to Start at School for CAS for an engineering coursed student?

I would like to know any ideas for starting a project, an activity, or some sort of thing that would help with CAS and maybe look good in a college application. I plan to study engineering and like so any related ideas could be helpful.

Depending on what kind of engineering you're interested in, you could join a robotics team if your school has one, or if not, start one yourself. Programming and computer classes might be good as well. You could also perhaps do some service related work somewhat related to your interests. Community service is a part of CAS anyways, and having a lot of it looks great on an application. For example, I'm in a women in engineering club at my university and we sometimes go to schools and science museums and give presentations and demonstrations to kids to get them interested in engineering.
