Kaitlynne
Hello Everyone:)I was just wondering if anyone with a bit of knowledge/past experience could help me with my predicament.I am taking SL Math at my school and we just received our IA marks (pre-moderation) and I got a 22/40 (10 on one, 12 on other). I'm terrible at essays/organization and our teacher only helped her favorites.Otherwise, I'm pretty decent at math - got only 7/6on my tests/quizzes - and am certain that I can pull off a 7 on my exam with crazy studying. But someone told me that even if I get 100% raw that I can't qualify for a seven because I didn't do well enough on my IAs.Is this true? Does that mean I can only get a 6? Is there any chance that my mark can be moderated high enough to qualify for a seven? How many points would you need?*Sigh* I guess a six isn't bad but I regret not getting some other random math teacher or someone to look at my portfolios. Thanks so much for all your help, Reply
Ayedott Gee
im pretty sure you can still get a 7. In HL the IAs are only worth 20% of the final grade, and i assume it's the same for SL. that means you've lost 9% so far but the cutoff for a 7 should be somewhere around the 70%-80% range so it should be possible to get a 7.
