Guest Fiorella
Hello everyone! Just a quick question. In terms of length, how long (approximately, I know it's different but still, I want a general idea) should my IA be? It's quality over quantity right? haha. I have 8 pages so far and my teacher says it's good (but it's her first time teaching math studies and revising IA's so I'm not sure....). What do you think? Thanks! Nabz
I think there's no official limit. At least for SL there isn't. I did my IA which was around 27 pages. Reply
The Rainbow Connection
I suppose the length varies depending on how much data you've collected. If you have obtained 100 pieces of data and can fit it in 2 pages - well done then; others may have the same data that spreads over a good 4 or 5 pages. That's probably where the key difference is Reply
alefal
There are no official max or min length on the Internal Assessment in maths studies. As long as you do your maths correctly and fulfil the criteria, you're good. Keep in mind, though, that it says in the guide states that 'the project should not normally exceed 2,000 words' (p. 37). The guide continues by saying that 'it is the quality of the mathematics and the processes used and described that is important, rather than the number of words written' (p. 37), so whether you have written 1500 or 2500 words shouldn't matter. 2 Reply
