Difference between outlining and explaining how it can be demonstrated in research?

Two learning outcomes from the sociocultural section read:

Outline principles that define the sociocultural level of analysis

and

Explain how principles that define the sociocultural level of analysis may be demonstrated in research

I'm thinking for the first one you'd list and define the principles and back it up with research (Asch study for example).

For the second one, you'd also list the principles, and also refer to these studies to show how they demonstrate the principles.

So are these two learning outcomes almost the same question?

Yup, they are exactly identical. The book you are using by John Crane does rephrase learning objectives like this sometimes.

In both you'd define the principles, give a study for each (evaluating each one of them thoroughly), and conclude that although the studies have limitations, they do demonstrate their respective psychological principle.

Alright, thanks. But it's actually IB that has both these learning objectives, so it seems slightly strange.

I'd think in exam conditions the question would be something along the lines of: Outline and explain how principles that define the SCLOA may be demonstrated in research. So that we don't forget to actually outline the principles as well and/or include studies.
