Clauzy
after doing my IA on glanzer and cunitz serial position curve . my results from the wilcoxon test allowed me to accept the null hypothesis instead of reject it and i am wondering if it means i fail my IA If i keep the same experiment or i have to do a new one. blindpet
Absolutely not, choosing the right test and doing it properly is the point of the IA's statistics exercise not getting a significant result. Of course it feels more 'right' if you replicate the original results but it doesn't impact your grade if you don't. Reply
Babydolleyes
As long as you don't draw incorrect conclusions, then you will be okay. Accepting the null hypothesis happens in the real world of psychology all the time (i think), there is nothing in the criterion that states that you must be right, this is an investigation. Don't worry! Reply
