krakaton
It's bloody incredible. In fact, one of my friends is doing an extended essay based on the book.I liked the story, sure, but what I found the most fascinating was the prose employed by Palahniuk. The stream-of-consciousness writing employed helps one get inside the head of the narrator and understand what drives him forward. Reply

Babydolleyes
What were your feelings about the book? Was it as touching to you as it was to me? Has it altered your thinking? I read it for sociology during my first semester of pre-IB. I really enjoyed it, it was much better than I thought it would be and I think everyone should read it. I don't think it really changed my way of thinking because the concepts that were introduced in the novel are concepts I was already pretty familiar with, but I think it could be very enlightening to many people. Very interesting and a lot of fun. I thought the film adaptation of the novel could have interpreted it better, but I think it was okay and I can see why many people love it.
