Obama's progress...?

Ok, it has been almost 5 months since Obama officially became a president.

I would say many have a very negative view on the US due to George Bush's policy which resulted in the deaths of thousands of people. Personally, my view is changing right now because of Obama's policy which is sort of keeping hope that he'll be able to change things and fix the disasters Bush caused. The way he is referring to muslims, islamic world, and barely using the phrase 'war against terrorism' which was like Bush's motto, is doing a great job in changing the view the islamic world is having on America.

However, what I have known recently is that the congress seems to have a greater power on how things compared to the power Obama has. In other words, he can't really do 'anything' he wants. I am not 100% sure about this, but I have heard from many people that the congress has a 50-year plan that it's following and making sure its reached. I also learnt recently, that the congress is mainly made from Zionist Jews, which directly relates to the Israelian government and what it's doing.

So my question is, all the efforts Obama is making to rebuild that 'trust'-if we may call it- the Islamic world has completely lost in the US, will it be successful? Or will the congress make sure it doesnt happen so that it can reach its goal?

Congress has always had a lot of power in the US, as has the Senate. The system is like that to prevent any one person from accumualting too much power and making the US a dictatorial state. And the Jewish Lobby is important in the States, but they don't make up a gigantic majority of Congress. A lot of people in Hollywood also happen to be Jews, yet there still seems to be a lot of movies making fun of Jews. Don't know about any 50 year-plans, doesn't really make sense to have any since representatives of Congress change every 4 years, so that's 12 new representatives in a 50-year timespan that won't have the same policies.

The war in Iraq might be ending soon, but they're just shifting the troops to Afghanistan. As long as they don't start a new war, Obama can do what he wants and he has my approval. he hans't personally insulted me, and I just want the Americans to not start another war and I'll be happy.

Couldnt it be that that secretly those representitives are chosen so that they keep the 50 year plan?

Honestly, I dont see the need to continue the war in Afghanistan if he's planning to just cease this so called 'war against terrorism'. I truly think that that area would be much better if the US troops just leave them alone.

Hi!

First off, I don't think your information is exactly correct.

Obama is a democrat, and so is congress, so there really too many conflicts of interests going on here.

You see, congress is made up of a x amount of people.

Democrats (Obama is a democrat) have a majority, and therefore can pretty much do what they want.

So compared to before, the government is actually working better.

However, you are correct: there are many undesirable elements in the government *coughrepublicans* who actively make Obama's job harder by voting against everything he is try to pass. Although their attempts are somewhat futile, it still causes trouble.

Yes, basically, Obama is for bringing socialism to America, and the repubs are bitching about it.

I think Obama will succeed, because I believe there is no such thing as wrong or right, just difference of opinion.

Many people back Obama (some for the wrong reasons) and with all this support, it doesn't matter which direction he's going in, he'll still get there.

Luckily, we are going in the right direction. (Although any direction is better than what George W. had been steering us to)

I hope that Obama can do something great for my country, as I believe he is a visionary and truly wants to help each and every single American- unlike Bush who only looked out for the wealthy.

I also think that in the Middle East, there are an awful lot of conspiracy theories that have to do with America, and often times Israel too. Israel apparently started the Iraq war, and collaborated with America to bring about 9/11 so that they could wage a war on the Muslim world together. There's some figures given for 9/11 here http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6056143 on the percentage of Arab Muslims that believe these theories. I have classmates that believe them, and according to a UN article I read, over 50% of Palestinians think Israel was behind September 11th. The Zionists can't be behind everything. That's like saying that the FBI or CIA is behind every major catastrophe (which a lot of people think too), or saying that Arabs are behind all terrorist attacks (which is what some rednecks down in the south of the USA think). This kind of thinking just breeds mistrust and hate. Obviously people want explanations for things, but people shouldn't automatically think "This is a conspiracy, the government wants to keep it secret but they really have this plan to bring down democracy and kill us all". Unfortunately, authoritarian movies like "V for Vendetta" enforce this image that our governments don't care about us and want to harm us.

I don't believe they can be behind everything either, but I can't can't say for certainty that they didn't want this.

Of course, oil was always an incentive for the United States to go to war...

I think when it comes down to it, George W. tried to start this "war on terror" to simply get support. We all know he really didn't care about the good of the country.
