Toffu-san
I'm probably going to course Further Mathematics SL and my teacher asked me to search a book wich have all the topics of the syllabus. Is there anyone that have done it? What book did you use? How difficult is it?Thanks Reply
Panserborne
Can't answer your question, but maybe you can answer one of mine. What is further mathematics? It's harder than HL, right? Is it an actual subject? And what would further maths HL be like? Ridiculously hard? Reply
Toffu-san
Can't answer your question, but maybe you can answer one of mine. What is further mathematics? It's harder than HL, right? Is it an actual subject? And what would further maths HL be like? Ridiculously hard? There are four difficults in IB Maths: Maths Studies, SL, HL and Further Mathematics SL. It's called SL but is harder than the others levels. There is no Further Mathematics HL, it's only his name; and is the best level preuniversty of maths. Is it an actual subject? And what would further maths HL be like? Ridiculously hard?Further Math is only offered as a SL, since it is usually combined with Math HL (as 6th or 7th subject). It is harder than HL since it covers the additional, mostly uni level Math. Reply

JourneyTo
The cambridge one is great.I'm currently using it.They did discontinue it.I'm under the impression final examinations are in 2010, then they're redoing the syllabus- i think there's going to be a HL route and a SL route from now on. sprintdominator
furthermathematics is just a combination of all the HL mathematics option. Isnt it? Reply
genepeer
Further Math is just Math HL plus all the options and one chapter on Euclidean Geometry. It's mainly hard because you got to do plenty of chapters in a ridiculously short time. So I guess any IB Math HL textbook including all options would be good, maybe I'm wrong. 1 Reply
