Sam1223
I am having trouble finding a correlation between the value of the stock market and the terrorist attacks for my math IA., and I am starting to wonder whether I should keep this topic or change it entirely since if there is no correlation it isn't possible though there is supposed to be one. So I would like to know if there is a website at which I could find data better suitable for use. Thanks Reply
kw0573
I don't really recommend doing correlations for SL. Often there may be no correlation and it's risky. It could be better to do modelling or explore a math problem. But I do know of this website https://www.gapminder.org/tools that allows users to visual compare various development indicators of different countries. Is there any topic that you recommend for modelling? Since it is quite overdone and I would need to do something different for it to get a good mark, and on the site is there anything about terrorism because when I checked I didn't find anything. Thanks for the help. Reply
kw0573
I cannot give any topic per se. But that website has some interesting relationships for correlation (sometimes correlated by definition). I know a popular topic is to find equation to model a shape, like the batman equation. It's good that you are pursuing a topic important to you but correlations are generally risky topics to get good marks because the link may be weak and communication gets convoluted. I think it's best to change your topic, possibly to a similar enough topic that you can recrunch the numbers easily. Reply
