To what extent Extended Essay is important in US college admission?

Do US schools consider EE grade as an important aspect of admission process or do they consider it as something minimal as CAS and TOK?

Honestly, I chose a wrong topic and am on the verge of getting D on the expected score. Since the EE expected score will be on my transcript, I am very worried about this.

Would getting a score of D be fine with getting into schools like Carnegie Mellon, Purdue, and UCs or do they expect much higher grades from the applicants?

Thanks!

Since the EE only counts for bonus points, it shouldn't be very important to them. US universities take the SAT/ACT into account much more than IB scores in general. Don't worry about it, I doubt it will have any impact!

Do you know approximately what you are predicted?

I took the ACT and US universities care about that much more anyway!

You can relax :D

Here's the site for Purdue Uni on the IB requirements: http://www.iss.purdue.edu/admission/ugrad/ib.cfm

My answer is, nope, EE is just like CAS, TOK and EE. TOK and EE collectively affects your IB scored though, which means if you are thinking of going to high end school, you might want to up your TOK scores just for the sake of bonus points.

Edit: I just noticed that I necroed this topic  :hang:
