Discuss factors influencing Conformity

Hi there,

With the syllabus point: 'discuss factors influencing conformity' - I discuss Normative, Informational and Social Identity Theory with studies - Asch (1951), Sherif (1935) and Tajfel (1971).

However, in the markscheme for this point it doesn't specify these influences but rather culture, groupthink, risky shift, minority influence and group size.

Are the factors that I talk about still acceptable? Or should I change to something that the markscheme specifies?

I have also included a lot of the points that you've mentioned above, but I think it's best to also include the factors that the mark scheme specifies (that way you will be able to ensure that you earn marks for the points you have discussed). For example factors such as groupthink and group size are a part of Asch's paradigm.

The normative and social influence stuff is relevant, but I think it's better to mention the Asch paradigm and the other points in the mark scheme. Since it's a 22 mark question, you should probably talk about everything, but focus more on Asch (And perhaps Moscovici and Lage 1973).
