flinquinnster
It should, as long as you have evidence you are doing it regularly over a period (e.g. when it's winter) and you have a supervisor willing to check that you're actually doing it! ChocolateDrop
Also you need to reflect on how it meets your learning outcomes, as well as make sure you show evidence for prior planning. Reply
carpediem
It depends if your school sees it as Action. For example, my CAS coordinator was like to us "Don't count skiing as Action if you're going on holiday to do it!" But it depends on what your CAS coordinator says, because they are the one who approves whether you pass CAS or not.But nevertheless, yes it does involve exercise so it should be. Icekacang00
it depends on your coordinator. In my school, anything that is individual could have a high rate of being rejected(we have to hand in CAS proposal before we start an activity. dont know if this is the case for every IB school). However, some individual activities such as going to the gym count for CAS..A safe option would be physically going to your CAS coordinator and ask if skiing counts for CAS. SweetPea07
I went skiing in Norway for a week and it counted as Action. But try ask your CAS coordinator, he knows. At our school it is more the outcomes which counts, and how we reflect on them. Edited June 23, 2013 by SweetPea07 Reply
yii yann
HiIt would work better if you pitch it to your coordinator like you're just learning skiing, or its a group activity with people from school, and you can show evidence of planning (not to mention meeting at least some learning outcomes). If it's just a recreational thing, it might be difficult to get it approved :/ Reply
mm8888
As long as you link it to some learning objectives and you get someone to sign the paper then it should be fine Reply
