sameera95
hi everyone, i need help with learning spanish (ab initio) as i find learning languages to be my weakest point in school - which is quite ironic since i'm bilingual anyway (arabic and english ) i don't know how to immerse myself in the language, and watching youtube videos in spanish just leaves me confused without understanding. so any tips? thanks Reply
Yahooo!
I watch a programme called Extra, the first one is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-dx6kd5f4E. It's a bit like Friends, and it's funny I also use this http://www.newsinslowspanish.com/ which has been incredibly helpful. We have not been given a textbook for Spanish or anything, so I have been using the CGP GCSE guides for Spanish and a friend of mine, his school uses Teaching Point for Spanish, they have been given a workbook, I bought one for $30 on their website and it covers EVERYTHING you need to know for the exam. 1 Reply

maroctam
Maybe you should try watching movies in Spanish with subtitles on, I know that helped me when I did Spanish Reply

Violet7
Thank you, Yahooo! I'm finding the links you posted useful. I will be taking my Spanish exams soon, too, and I need the extra practice.I recommend practicing writing a little everyday. Just set a timer for 10 or 15 minutes, pick a topic, and write as much as you can, varying the types of sentences you use. This was an exercise we did in class once. AJA
Hi, I can help you if you wish. I´m a native Spanish teacher getting familiar with the IB syllabus Reply
goaway
I have found that the best way to immerse yourself is to speak Spanish with your friends/classmates. Reply
