Cydney Kane
I was wondering which sort of calculations are necessary to be shown in an IA. For example, is it really necessary to show how you calculated an average? Seems basic enough to be able to leave it out. Should standard deviation calculations be walked through at all? Thanks! -._._.-
In my Physics IA, for the standard error calculations, I showed an example then I just put the rest of the errors in a table without showing calculation. For the average, I'm not sure, but it's better to be on the safe side and show at least one calculation on the average. Reply
Lero
In my chemistry and biology IA's I provided a single sample of each calculation that was made. Often this included calculating the mean, the rate (dependent upon your desired units), manipulating the uncertainties involved, including the absolute uncertainty, percentage uncertainty, and percentage error.
