Nabz
Ok so, i wrote that title just to grab some attention but it does make you think twice before giving your opinion. I heard it last night at a dinner and thought i may share it with your guys RIDDLE:A family goes to a restaurant and they pay 30$ for the bill to the waiter. The waiter takes 30$ to the manager and the manager decides to give them a discount of 3$. On the way back, the waiter steals 1$ and pays back 2$ to the family. The family now paid 28$ actually while the waiter stole 1$ = 29$, where's the 30th dollar. Reply

Heather Kurle
I finally figured it out! yay! The $30 is all accounted for: $27 with the manager, $2 with the family, and $1 with the waiter. The reason it seems confusing is that the $1 and $28 should not be added. The family paid $28 dollars INCLUDING the $1 the waiter stole, not in addition to it. In actuality, the only equation that makes sense with those 2 numbers is that the amount paid ($28) minus the amount stolen($1) equals the amount the manager got. ternopil2
The person above me got it! At the end, you cant add the two because the total that the family payed is 27, not 30. However, the family ends up giving up one more dollar to the waiter, thus spending 28 dollars in total. Reply
