unicornication
Hi,Sorry for another is-it-cas?????? type thread, but I'd just like to ask for an opinion I'm planning on doing a research project - trying to 'invent' new ways of learning and teaching by experimenting, hypothesizing, and googling. This fulfils the "Creativity" and "Service" (<- after it's done) aspects, and meets 5/8 learning outcomes - though I've not been able to find any prior attempts at a CAS research project, and I don't want to look like an idiot if my CAS coordinator thinks it's a blatent reject - haha.Thank you!Any responses greatly appreciated Reply
ChocolateDrop
Well not that Im a qualified CAS coordinator but it seems acceptable, in fact there seems to be a mini petition to implement this 'service learning/ action learning' into the current IBDP CAS. My advice would be just make it as CAS like as you possibly can, e.g link it to how it can help some disadvantaged individuals or special needs people with their learning. Here's a bit more information and examples of students who used 'action learning/ service learning':http://uditscasblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/kashmir-research-project.htmlwww.rsu21.net/IB/cas.pdfwww.ceesa.org/phocadownload/.../cbkayesession1ibmeetssl.pdf (imminent CAS research movement) 1 Reply
GirlwiththeBlueBox
As long as it's not specifically for an IB class (say, composing for IB Music) it can count as CAS. Reply
