LeonieIB
Hi guys I started the IB about a week ago, and I'm pretty worried about Maths.I'm taking it at Studies Level - and for now we haven't don't much so I can't tell if it's hard or not. However, in pre-IB years I took Maths Standard and I ended with about a 3.Will I be fine in Studies if I work hard? Sword (Hubert Pomorski)
Studies are calculator dependent. If you connect yourself with any subject that is quite humanistic/linguistic but not e.g. engineering the level will be satisfying and the skill taught (statistics & logic) may come in handy. It is not difficult course. Average students have 5-6 after examination. Reply
gbr9561
Hi Kerry,I originally started doing standard and dropped to studies a few weeks in.It's not difficult, especially compared to all the other subjects, just a few bits to learn especially formulas, make sure you understand them from the start and learn all the Venn diagram/ logic formulas and you shouldn't have a problem. Most of it's in the formula book anyway!Good luck Reply

gbr9561
You will be given one, there are copies online as well. This is a useful site with a bit of info and worksheets, as well as a copy of the book.http://ibmaths.pbworks.com/w/page/8285670/IB%20Maths%20Studies Reply
LeonieIB
Oh, thanks very much. Are there these kinds of websites for many different subjects?Should I look under "links"? Reply
gbr9561
Yep, there are loads of good sites, just type your subject into google and have a look through whatever appears. They don't have to be IB specific to be useful, there are some good IB specific sites as well but see what you prefer. Reply
