ib class hamburg
HELP!I am about to take the May 2012 examinations and am very concerned about my Latin SL class. My school is offering the IB for the first time ever and there has been quite some confusion. As I was checking the prescribed list of authors again, I found a document stating that I had been studying all the wrong option, the ones only eligible from 2013 on. Conducting further research, I found some documents confirming and others faulting my suspicion. This one states that the below list is correct for 2012. http://www.theclassicslibrary.com/prescribed%20authors.pdfThese ones, one the other hand, tell me that the mentioned list is wrong for 2012. http://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=+IB+SL+and+PIB+Latin+III%2FLatin+IV+WT+Latin+Poetry&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCcQFjAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fairviewhs.org%2Fsystem%2Fsyllabuses%2F78%2Foriginal%2F2%2520%2520%2520IB%2520Latin%2520IV%2520SL%2520Latin%2520Poetry%2520Syllabus.doc%3F1314795876&ei=B6BOT7yVBMfSsgaHmKDFDw&usg=AFQjCNFUIqIYuUAlCB6Jsg8NfXPeVahs5g&sig2=h_HQb4R3JbcH8PK3BJgGpw&cad=rjahttp://www.google.de/#hl=de&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=LATIN+III%2FIV%2FV+INTERNATIONAL+BACCALAUREATE&psj=1&oq=LATIN+III%2FIV%2FV+INTERNATIONAL+BACCALAUREATE&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=3&gs_upl=1025l1025l0l1298l1l1l0l0l0l0l125l125l0.1l1l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=ae8a016425393f95&biw=1400&bih=767Now, could somebody please tell me what prescribed authors they are studying for their May 2012 Latin SL examination. Is this list, including:Elegiac and lyric poetry Catullus 3, 5, 8, 11, 13, 31, 45, 51, 72, 76, 85, 101Epic Virgil Aeneid 4 198-552Historiography Tacitus Annals 14 1-22Letters Pliny the Younger, Letters 1.9, 1.12, 2.6, 5.9, 7.17, 7.27 [...]Satire not offeredPhilosophy Lucretius 3 50-397the correct one for May 2012?I would very much thank anyone who could give me a definite answer.Desperate regards,Isabel (Germany) Edited February 29, 2012 by ib class hamburg Reply

Wisdom908
Hey. I'm doing Vergil and Elegaic, but I don't think that is the right one (at least I hope it isn't). We studied book 6 for Vergil and catullus included like 1,4 etc etc. Reply
Salve
We did Vergil, Book 6, lines 154-476; and Catallus poems 1, 4, 10, 12, 14, 42, 46, 70, 75, 87, 96, 109.I took the May 2012 test. It had Catallus 46 and 96 or 14 (I can not remember). Vergil had a passage in middle of story and end of story. Reply
CoryAlpert
I'm studying Vergil, Ovid, Livy and Catullus. We log all of our translations and notes on latinsl.blogspot.com, if you want a word-by-word breakdown of the texts. Reply
