ib certificate recognition

IB certificates are basically useful when it comes to University Credit in certain subjects. However, they dont stand a chance compared with the normal IB Diploma as a whole and universities don't really recognize you as an IB student. If you get accepted into one by your own merit and you possess an IB certificate then you might be able to get some credits for certain things but that's as far as they're gonna take you. You can always get accepted to an Ivy League for example but having or not having a certificate doesn't make any significant difference.

IB certificates aren't that useful, honestly. Like Procrastination said, they are fine for first year uni credit if you university offers that. However, they're not that helpful for actually getting into uni. When a university sees an IB applicant, they expect that you did the whole program and are going for the diploma. But if you're just doing certificates, then you're not doing the whole diploma and they don't really see you as an IB applicant; they would likely view you as a regular applicant from your own country depending on how many certificates you do.

So go for the whole diploma and put up with TOK/CAS/EE, it helps in the long run :P
