What is IB math equivalent to, in A-Level terms?

I have had some people tell me it's basically an AS-Level in maths, while Maths HL is A2.

I have had some people tell me it's halfway between AS-Level in maths, while Maths HL is A2 + AS Further Maths.

I have had some people tell me it's approximately more or less an A2 in Maths, while Maths HL is A2 + Further Maths.

So which of these approximations are closest to correct, guys? Or are none of them close enough? I need to know, because LSE is being ambiguous with its IB requirements, and basically require an A2 in Maths for this one degree, and I don't know if Maths SL will suffice.

Also, a side question: Is Maths Studies basically GCSE level then?

The easiest way to find out is by University standards. What are University Maths offers for A-Levels and the corresponding IB equivalents? Whether their approximations are truly equal or not is besides the point.

So LSE equates an A* in A-Level Maths and equates that to a 7 in IB Maths HL. So basically if we go downwards, an A in A-Level would be a 6 in IB HL Maths, a B is 5, a C is 4 and so on.
