gba
So I was perusing the University of Waterloo's website for the requirements for their math program (which is what I wanted to go into), and it turns out their requirement is HL Math with a minimum of 6. Their Ontario requirement is Gr 12 Calculus and Vectors, and Gr 12 Advanced Functions with I think a minimum of 90%. WTF? My school doesn't have HL Math. Does this mean I can't get in? This is BS. timtamboy63
Give them an email and explain your situation. Some universities require you to take a bridging course, but I'm not sure whether that applies to Canadian universities. Reply
Drake Glau
Yea...it happens. My school has no SL Math Methods...it's either Math St. or HL and HL has a prerequisite of Calculus 1+2...^Do what he said and see what happens, all you can do.If anything the college might be ok with it but force you to take a few classes extra to catch up Reply
Summer Glau
If you're taking math SL and you live in Ontario, you'll get the credits for Gr. 12 Advanced Functions and Gr. 12 Calculus and Vectors, which meets the requirement. If you're in math studies...then I'm afraid you won't meet it :/I doubt you would have to take a bridging course, since the majority of Ontario applicants will have taken Adv. Functions and Calc/Vectors, which is basically equivalent to math SL. Reply
