munty_27
Hello, I have recently finished my Higher level geography coursework, and was wondering are annotations and titles of graphs included in the 2500 word limit?
Asheee
Hello,Titles of graphs aren't included, I'm not too sure about annotations though. Perhaps ask your teacher just to be on the safe side Actually, now that I think about it, labels and annotations are included in the word count if they are over 8 words in length. So just make them under 8 words and they won't count Edited March 14, 2010 by Asheee
decemberflower
Hi, I am only Standard Level, but I guess that doesn't make a difference in the way they define the word count (only that you have 2500 words and I only had 1500).The following is an excerpt from a document that my teacher gave to us. Hope it helps. And that it still applies . Well, I am class of 2010 and still have the old syllabus. "GEOGRAPHY INTERNAL ASSESSMENT WORD COUNT: 2OO7 CLARIFICATIONDefinitionsLabel:less than and including l0 wordsAnnotations: over l0 wordsWords not included in the word countTitle pageAcknowledgementsContentspageTitles, subtitlesCitations, references and bibliographyFootnotes(up to a maximum of l5 words)Appendices-containining only raw data and/or calculationsPhotographsMap legends and/or keysLabels-notation must be less than l0 wordsTables-tables of statistical, numerica data,or categories, classes or group namesCalculationsWords included in the word countEvery word of all annotations.Main text:the introduction, hypotheses, analysis, connclusion and evaluation wherever these appear"

decemberflower
these word limits are always so complicated! my teacher actually checked ours by counting by hand. he doesn't have much of a life anyway... since he is also the IB coordinator lol
