Hello,

Titles of graphs aren't included, I'm not too sure about annotations though. Perhaps ask your teacher just to be on the safe side :D

Actually, now that I think about it, labels and annotations are included in the word count if they are over 8 words in length. So just make them under 8 words and they won't count :)

Hi, I am only Standard Level, but I guess that doesn't make a difference in the way they define the word count (only that you have 2500 words and I only had 1500).The following is an excerpt from a document that my teacher gave to us. Hope it helps. And that it still applies ;). Well, I am class of 2010 and still have the old syllabus.

"GEOGRAPHY INTERNAL ASSESSMENT WORD COUNT: 2OO7 CLARIFICATION

Definitions

Label:less than and including l0 words

Annotations: over l0 words

Words not included in the word count

Title page

Acknowledgements

Contentspage

Titles,subtitles

Citations, references and bibliography

Footnotes(up to a maximum of l5 words)

Appendices-containining only raw data and/or calculations

Photographs

Map legends and/or keys

Labels-notation must be less than l0 words

Tables-tables of statistical,numerica data,or categories,classes or group names

Calculations

Words included in the word count

Every word of all annotations.

Main text:the introduction, hypotheses, analysis, connclusion and evaluation wherever these appear"
