Vvi Posted May 10, 2009 Report Share Posted May 10, 2009 Also, in my teacher's explanation of the Cuban Missile Crisis she told us that after the crisis, the Soviets were even more determined to close the missile gap with the US and spent more money on weapons than they should have. As a result, living standards dropped in the USSR and people became very dissatisfied with the regime. Indirectly, the Missile Crisis contributed to the USSR's collapse.
