Group 4 Project

How much work does your school usually sent to be evaluated by IB for your group 4 projects?

Last year the groups had to write huge lab reports for all the science sections, present the project in a presentation, and then send a picture of the visual.

This year instead of presenting our projects we are presenting them in a "science fair" event where everyone just has their visual set up and the teachers can come by and ask questions. No write up is required, and the only thing sent to IB is the picture of the visual.

I'm not really getting why they would send lab reports before but not this year. Is the only thing IB needs is a visual and an evaluation of "personal skills"? Because if that is the case then it doesn't sound like we really need to have complex experiments as long as we are getting along?

How do other schools run their group fours?

At my school we all did formal powerpoint presentations and we had to summarize both our group's accomplishments and our personal contribution to each Group IV meeting. We also had to evaluate our group's preparation for the Group IV Presentation and our personal participation in the preparation for the presentation.

It wasn't too intense, but the people who didn't look at the IB Criterion when answering the questions did rather poorly. Especially since the writeup was supposed to demonstrate our involvement and was a big part of our actual G4 IB grade.
