Group 4 projects incorporating Physics Chem and Bio.

I'm not sure what gave our adivsors the brilliant idea to come up with a biology theme and expect all the sciences to draw something from that, but whatever. My group has the following topic, any input is appreciated:

The affect of the pollution in the water on the stone skippage. The place used to be a landfill, so we're going to test samples of the polluted water for various chemicals and such, and compare it to that of water from another source. I think surface tension will be measured as well. Then video the arc of the stone's path.

All group 4 projects are supposed to incorporate all 3 sciences.
I don't understand this statement: "The affect of the pollution in the water on the stone skippage."
And you're measuring the surface tension of the water?

Group 4 projects don't have to incorporate all 3 sciences. If there's no one that takes Physics in cashinapig's class, then they don't have to incorporate physcs into Group 4. And not even then. My class takes only Biology and DT for Group 4 subjects. They were going to make us do something with fish (the DT people would have built a fish tank and we would have done Biology stuff with it). Turned out to be too difficult, and our school didn't have equipment sophisticated enough for another idea they came up with. We did completely separate projects in the end.

The topic sounds interesting, I never thought that there would be a link between pollution and the distance stones skip on water. Testing the water for chemicals sounds fine, and you will have a lot to evaluate on the environmental impact fo the investigation and so on. I don't think your teachers are as bad as some I've heard about. At least they gave you a direction and a doable investigation.
