Skl
We just started the IB and were told to do our Group 4 Project, apparently our topic given was "Ocean Water". We were told to incorporate Physics, Biology, and Chemistry into one project?? Could anyone give any examples of how that's done? Especially with ocean water, we came up with ideas that only reflected 1 or 2 sciences. Any tips or suggestions please? Thanks in advance Reply
Abu
You can't really have one experiment which tests all 3 scientifical aspects. We were assigned the beach, and we came up with maybe 2-3 experiments that we did. Maybe compare ocean waters to sea water, do a titration and see what kind of salts are present, thus seeing which of the two present better living conditions for organisms. That's bio and chem. For Physics, a basic one would be to check the heat capacity. Another would be that since sea water is salty, you could check if the presence of salt helps the conductivity or if ordinary tap water conducts water better.
