Andy K.
I am working on my science fair project which is observing how acid rain causes corrosion of rocks. I want to make an acid rain solution using distilled water and sulfuric acid. What is the ratio of the amount of sulfuric acid per milliliter of water to get a solution with pH of 4.0-4.3? kw0573
Diluting acid is a process that a chemistry or biology teacher should supervise because it is strongly exothermic. 1M sulfuric acid is roughly 0 pH and to get to 4 pH you need 10000 times water as acid. You should also beware of all precautions (add acid to water, dropwise). 2 Reply
