alissahuber
Does anyone have any vague ideas for a chemistry SL IA having to do with the environment, animal ethics, etc. or can just talk through some ideas to narrow it down? Thanks! Reply
Guest
Well, we can't give you a topic, but have you flipped through your book to see if there are any experiments you did in class that you could do in an IA? Then you could alter them to be about the environment. For example, an exemplar we were shown in class was someone measuring the amount of dissolved oxygen in a river every x hours and then they made a comment about why that trend may occur due to pollution. Bobby K.
Well the Chemistry IA doesn't have to be a complex topic. I would look into the area of environment because that seems to be one of the easiest topics to focus on. I would look into observing already established processes. For example my Chem IA is on lead detection and why particular chemicals are used instead of others. That way research is easy to do, and you know what to expect from your experiment.
