Austin Lee
Hi, so for my CAS Project, I am coaching (along with the head coach) a group of kids that are either physically, mentally, or financially disabled (The program is free for them and the club was already set up, I am just coaching). However, my coordinator said that what is the difference for this project of volunteering vs. a real CAS project. I haven't told her that I am going to be setting up fundraisers for the kids to take part in. So my question is what is the difference between CAS project and volunteering? kw0573
CAS has some emphasis on goal-setting and striving towards their completion. For example simple volunteering can be you showing up on time, teaching proper techniques, giving encouragement that kinda stuff. CAS would incorporate you have some vision for the future of the team and how you plan to fulfill that vision (eg. make them all interested to come back for over a year, or make sure they get all the assistance to get over their obstacles). CAS builds a learning, experimenting, and evaluating journey to a volunteering activity. Reply
Amanda<3
CAS project is essentially the same as volunteering but the duration has to be greater than a month. Plus, you most work with a group of people(Group of three or more). Reply
