Inferential Statistics - two tests give different results!

Hello everyone.

I've conducted two tests, an independent t-test and a Mann Whitney U test for my psychology IA, but they give different results! The t-test confirms my research hypothesis, while the Mann Whitney U test disproves my hypothesis.

The Mann Whitney U test, according to cranepsych, appears to be more acceptable by the IB for use in the inferential statistics section of the IA, but the t-test can also be used if it is properly justified!!...

What should I do?? Should I go with Mann-Whitney OR the t-test??
