Raghav Kapur
Hi guys,I was thinking of researching the perfect shot in the game of cricket. I am thinking of using momentum and angles to do the exploration. Differentiation and integration can help me model the required data. However, is the topic HL-level and if so, there will be a lot of physics involved. Can I use a topic that is physics-oriented. Also, as a backup, I want to explore the math-Econ relationship, but I found ideas that were either too simplistic or too complex. Suggestions about either topic are really appreciated. 1 Reply
kw0573
Integration in physics (as far as I know) is only required when force is not constant. And average force can be used for contact between the cricket bat (is that the right term??) and the ball. Calculus may be required if say you get a curve ball (one that spins) instead of one that does not spin, where you start dealing with angular momentum and angular velocities. I only took SL Physics so I am not an expert. As for math-econ, use the simplest ideas that allow use of HL content (preferably more than 1 topics) then elaborate as much as you can. imkd97
I want to do the IA with Cricket as well. But I don't know which topic to use for it. I was thinking Statistic. Reply
