JasonHHHH
This is a very interesting question. To answer this, maybe you should check out this philosophical article. http://www.newphilosopher.com/articles/happiness-and-all-that-crap/This should help. 1 Reply
Emilia1320
We could measure amounts of serotonin and/or dopamin and/or other emotion-related neuro-transmitters on individual's brain, see how much their values differ from optimal values and therefore get statistical data about their happiness. So to some extend it can be measured. Another way is to monitor other kind of consequences different feelings cause on our body (there are plenty). Then of course survey tests also could give data about happiness. Everything can be measured, at least so some extend. 1 Reply
El :3
What do you guys think of this article? http://medicalxpress.com/news/2014-08-equation-happiness-people-worldwide.html They've basically tried to put "happiness" into one equation, so that it's now some sort of quantitative measurement, rather than something abstract. ibstudent77
A friend of mine actually did his TOK presentation on this, he got a good grade. He used Economics and Biology, using GDP and dopamine and serotonin levels. Reply
